Probably both, actually. Bioware since they seem to be going a bit mad lately. EA because they think single-player only games are finished [http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-12-08-ea-single-player-only-games-finished]. And that games will all have some sort of multiplayer component. Or all will need one to do well in the industry.Woodsey said:If it is true, I reckon its BioWare. They've gone off their nut recently and, to be honest, EA seem to know to leave their big developers alone for the most part. DICE seem to pretty much get their own way, for example.Irridium said:God dammit EA. Not everything needs fucking multiplayer.
Skyirm proved you don't need multiplayer. At all. So stop putting it where it doesn't fucking belong just so you can put an online pass on the thing.
Assuming this is true, of course. I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
Co-op takes much more time and it hasto be done by the main team, arena pvp however can be outsourced on the cheap and tacked on later, if anything that would be the simple first step.Satsuki666 said:Ya im not buying it. Online co-op I could see but not a pvp arena.
Because if you don't have online multiplayer, you can't slap an Online Pass on the game to gouge ten bucks out of people who buy it used.sir.rutthed said:Fucking... Why does everything need multiplayer? I wanna play alone damnit! Origins really was the end of an age, it seems. Fare thee well, strong narrative driven RPG's that kick your ass at every turn...
Yep. Because people play Bioware games to fight against with other living human beings!Mike Kayatta said:Dragon Age Getting Multiplayer
It's just a rumor.Thunderhorse31 said:I literally just want to cry right now.
I wouldn't blame Bioware. Bioware wants to make traditional RPG's with one or two quirks just to set them apart.AugustFall said:Bioware are really going this multiplayer route. I expect TOR to simply be the first MMO of their series. DA and ME will most likely follow.
Honestly I was disappointed in both DA:O and ME2, I was expecting KOTOR or NWN level customization and I just didn't feel like there was much progression, the tech trees felt lacking.
