I honestly think that such a game would mess up the franchises good standing. Gears of War has a specific setting with a specific conflict, and a specific feel to it. Such a game would be easily identified as an attempt to just milk a franchise. I know for a fact that all those minigame sport compilations games are fun, but no one takes them seriously, just a huge gimmick.

Don't do it, you'll be ruining the works of great programmers, great graphic designers and great writers (Karen Traviss wrote the novels).

That game was indeed bad ass, but it was it's own set universe and didn't encompass any other game types. GoW is established as it is now, and a sports game just wouldn't fit into the established material.

I agree!! The girl gears could be better in speed while the male gears in strength. Maybe Baird and Carmine could be maybe 50/50?

One Carmine would be defensive, the other offensive. Of course, knowing the rules to thrashball would help us in speculation...

And Baird gets a bonus when teamed with Cole, and vice versa.

My thought as well (and I don't even really know much about it other than Warhammer).

Despite being averse to Kinect, Gears of War as a gore-ridden sports title has over the top awesome potential!

Sadly, I just know that it will be mucked up because of Kinect. Not only that, as Scrumpmonkey above stated, it further emphasizes Kinect's place as a gimmicky mini-game add-on while continuing with over-saturation/exploitative perpetuation of stagnant go-to franchises instead of Kinect using innovation and new, stand alone IPs to give it any reason for existence (Beyond the PC hacks of course).

Whatever, I guess. It's their intellectual property, they can do whatever they want with it.

They are abusing it the wrong way. Though I sense Microsoft 'coercing' them to do this. Really. If such game releases, gone goes the little credibility of "A highly visceral emotional rollercoaster ride" when they release something like this on the Kinect.
