Rumor: GTA V Radio Info Leak

The only spoilers I ever really want in a GTA game: I love finding out what music is going to be on the radio.

So when the pre-loads went down on psn, (they're allowing some people to download most of the game so there's not an overload on launch day; people will still have to go download the key on launch day but that's probably just a few kb) some hackers apparently decided to sift through all the files and have been discovering some interesting info.

Please take this with a grain of salt; I remember hearing a rumor that The Go Teams "Junior Kickstart" was going to be in gta4 and was very disappointed when it wasn't. So while it may be complete BS, this is what they're saying will be on the radio:

It's not just the radio stations that have been leaked, apparently people have gone through the cut-scene dialogue and there are some pretty huge ending spoilers floating around, so you should be very careful about what you read and what sites you visit if you want GTA V to remain unspoiled.

This is quite a big fuck-up on Sony's part, accidentally releasing the pre-load weeks before it was supposed to be released, and while they quickly took it down again, the damage has been done and the game data has been shared around the Internet for people to decompile and access.

Apparently Rockstar aren't too happy about this bungle and it will be interesting to see what further fallout Sony will face for their mistake, whether it will jeopardise any future game and digital download deals with Rockstar/Take 2, or if they'll get fined by Take 2 like any other retailer who broke the street date and sold a game a month before release.

There Non-Stop Pop has a few good tunes, and the Unknown section has a few good songs, as well.

Other than that, can't say I like the other stations. I hope 5 will give you the option to make your own playlist like you can in the Saint's Row games. That would be baller.

not just rock and metal (which is my favourite genres) but i have a broad spectrum of musical taste.

san an:
radio X from san an had some good alternative stuff, good brit pop (stones roses and primal screem)and guns n fucking roses and finally lets not forget radio los santos was full of iconic rap songs.

vice city:
V-rock from vice city was obviously superb , emotion had toto - africa, kate bush, mr. mister - broken wings and REO speed wagon. fever had some MJ, rick james, kool and the gang and the pointer sisters. Flash had brian adams, INXS, more MJ and ELO. Wave had spandau ballet, blondie, human league, tears for fears and frankie goes to hollywood

GTA III
flashback FM is essentially the scarface soundtrack

GTA IV
liberty rock radio has some decent classics (elton john, queen, bowie, joe walsh) and i believe it was updated in TLAD. in fact id probably say that LRR is up there with KDST and V-rock but the rest of GTA IV was terrible. tuff gong couldve had a load more iconic bob marley tracks especially since little jacob is such a big part of the game. theres one or two tracks from other stations that were ok but most just abysmal

you just have to look at the list here and think wow (especially vice city). seriously these are all songs that are outstanding. i look at the list for GTA V and theres literally nothing that stands out. its not even as though there is a LRR like GTA IV to save it

Thanks for the update...and the warning. However, ever since I found out there are 3 protagonists, I've kind of had an idea of how the climax will go. But I do want to play through with the hope that I'm wrong and that they will surprise me.

I too am afraid that the music selection might have peaked with San Andreas. I loved every radio station in that game; each one was just packed with great songs. So I'm not expecting it to be that good.

However if California Soul is really on the radio, I don't see how I will be able to complain:

And Haboglabotribin? Really? That's a really frickin bizarre song. Very pleasantly surprised to see that on there.

But keep in mind, they still aren't done figuring out all the songs yet. There are a bunch of insane people with too much time on their hands sifting through 30 hours of radio (apparently)that's encrypted into a huge 18Gb (apparently) game. They probably wont even have a complete list before the game actually comes out... who am I kidding, people will probably be playing it by monday.

I did update the list from the original post with an extended list of the songs. Some interesting additions, like Phil Collins, who is one of the few celebs to show up physically in a GTA game as himself.

Word on the street is that the ending has been spoilt on Reddit, so people may want to avoid it if they don't anyway.

I think the main problem in the upcoming days and weeks is going to be trolls who make throwaway suicide account on any gaming website just to spoil major GTA V plot points in the thread title.

I think The Escapist should enact some kind of pre-emptive moderation on all new and seldom active accounts, meaning that all posts (and subsequent edits) from new and inactive users get automatically delayed and hidden until a moderator can read their post and vet it before it goes live.

This is probably the biggest gaming release of the generation and the magnum opus of one the biggest developers in gaming, so it's sure to be troll bait now that the game has been leaked.

WCC isn't the old Radio Los Santos (and the new RLS is pretty shit) but its got some good shit on it.
