I want to see a GTA that's set in the future. Imagine GTA crossed with The Fifth Element. Flying car jacking!
That would be frickin' amazing. I've always hoped someone would make exactly that game.

(goes to watch Fifth Element for the 600th time)

I'm predicting this is gonna be a pretty great E3. I will be very happy with a GTA announcement.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again: I think making the main character in a GTA game female would be awesome. It would definitely change the way the game plays out, that is for dang sure... If they did that, then I might actually check the game out.

I'd prefer GTA if it kept going down the road it is currently headed. GTA4 was a massive step up in terms of plot and characters compared to San Andreas, and Red Dead Redemption took it even further.

I loved San Andreas and the earlier GTAs for their insanity, but since they left that path and Saints Row took it over, there is no need them to revert back to the silliness that made the earlier games great. Saints Row 3 is already going to fill that gap, and do it better.

i'd pay top dollar for GTA: World Tour, where they create a bunch of sandboxes around the world based on iconic locations from the most prominent nations.

or, you know, just release DLC that adds new cities and stories to a GTA we already own.

I have tried every one of the 3-D GTAs. I have never beaten any one of them. I think they need the following for the next title: 1. San Andreas customization and leveling. (I loved the feeling of my character actually progressing) 2. Crazy missions like those of Vice City. (pretty much self explanatory) 3. Physics and practically no load times when exploring the city from GTA IV. (walking into Burger Shot almost dead has never been easier when being chased by cops) and 4. The crazy arcadey feel of GTA III. (Just so much fun with unlimited quarters) All and all, pretty round game.

A lot of cool ideas here. I especially like bringing it back to the crazy, bring back the in game rewards, bring back the customizations, having a female protagonist (someone like Catlina who is completely psycho; a redhead...by default at least), a huge map, and a huge amount of side missions.
Basically a new San Andreas.

However, I was wrong in my prediction: no GTA was announced at E3.
Sorry. I assure you that there is a GTA on the way.
I think the lack of announcement may be a good thing: it indicates that a certain platform developer didn't try to snag some sort of exclusivity.
Hopefully this means that it will be equal across all platforms and the PC version will be playable out of the box.
