So, this is a thing [https://gamerant.com/nintendo-switch-4k-rumor/]
Personally, I'm all for it.
I'll be real. I'm tired of playing Doom and thinking "Well, at least I can play it on the go". We do have the technology to make it better. And honestly, I see nothing wrong with it coming two years later. Simply because this is exactly the development cycle Nintendo has always done with their handhelds.
From a youtube comment (which I checked on wiki [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_DS_family] to be true [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_3DS_family])
Now for the sucky part which I really can't defend. According to ReviewtechUSA [https://youtu.be/baREaA5Vur8?t=58s] with his conversation with Sellars, if true, Nintendo won't require 3rd party developers to develop games for the old switch. They can focus only on the New Switch if they want.
That's... yeah, that's crappy. I can't deny that. But I also can't deny that I love the switch and I'm tired of it getting passed over whenever I see a good game. I much rather have great games on the go and play another three hundred dollars than pay another three hundred dollars and still only take my switch with me where I want to be.
So. This is the rumor. What say you?
I've seen this on some youtube vids and I thought I would bring it up to hear your thoughts. Some people arne't happy. Some people are about it.The rumor seems to stem from supposed "industry insider" Marcus Sellars, who is known for starting rumors and supposedly "leaking" information on Twitter. In since-deleted tweets, Sellars claims the upgraded Nintendo Switch will release in early 2019 with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and "dynamic scaling" that will let it output 4k resolution. Sellars also claims that this upgraded Switch will have some exclusive games that won?t be available on the standard version of the console, pointing to the Resident Evil 2 remake as an example, and that it will support streaming services like Twitch.
It should go without saying that this rumor should be taken with a massive grain of salt. Sellars may have been accurate about some leaks in the past, but he?s also been known to leak unverified information that has been fed to him by users trying to out him as a fraud. A lot of his "leaks" have also been proven false, like his claim that Black Ops 4 would be on the Switch, for example.

What is the literal difference now? I'll actually tell you the difference. We get a much more robust package.I'm still trying to wrap my head around why people are surprised. Have we not paid any attention to Nintendo? Do we remember the DS?
DS available in NA at Nov 2004. DS lite came June 2006. DSi came April 2009. Finishing off with DSi XL March 2010.
3DS dropped March 2011, 3DS XL in August 2012, The 2DS (still don't know who that was for) at October 2013, the NEW 3DS in Sept 2015 and the NEW 3DS at Feb 2015. Leaving the NEW 2DS for just last year.
