Nintendo: We'll make it better, stronger, faster, but we don't have enough left for the graphics proccessor after the controller, so we'll go with something outdated.
By 2012, it's gone to be a rare site to see someone who wants a 360/PS3 and has the money to get them, not owning one.OutrageousEmu said:And what makes you think it can compete with them?Asuka Soryu said:In Nintendo's defense, it may have weak graphics when compared to the "PS4" and "XBox 720", but the Wii was weaker then the Xbox and PS3 and it look how that turned out.
It just needs to ride a good gimmic and good price, and it'll probably hold its own, despite sub-par graphics when compared to Microsoft and Sony's 8th gen console.
Not to mention it'll have a year or two of no comeptition, except from the 360 and PS3.
You know, you're right. No wonder the PS3 could sale a single version, the PS2 was obviously owned by plenty, so why would they need another console?OutrageousEmu said:Yeah, people will have a Ps3 or a 360 already, so why would they want or need to get a n ew home console? Whats the new Nintendo console do our Ps3 and 360's haven't been doing for years?Asuka Soryu said:By 2012, it's gone to be a rare site to see someone who wants a 360/PS3 and has the money to get them, not owning one.OutrageousEmu said:And what makes you think it can compete with them?Asuka Soryu said:In Nintendo's defense, it may have weak graphics when compared to the "PS4" and "XBox 720", but the Wii was weaker then the Xbox and PS3 and it look how that turned out.

Now then, add that and the fact that it's a new game console, "new" tends to draw in attention more then 6 years old game consoles.
Adding in that it's Nintendo and they have a huge fandom, who'll probably drool over the concept of a Zelda game that makes Twilight Princess look really outdated, thrown in with the gimmic of the console might be good enough to get some heads turned. Bam~
Not to mention that the Ps3 and 360 will have their current install bases, while the new console doesn't have one. What third party's gonna wanna deveop for that?

Geeze. Why is the escapist reporting completely unverifiable rumours that exist without the slightest bit of evidence?Tom Goldman said:SNIPPED
OutrageousEmu said:Ah, there's a difference. With the Ps2, as opposed to this, there was a jump in quality, not Nintendo finally catching up to where the Ps3 and 360 have been all this time. This is offering the same thing (same level of power, not a higher one) we've already got with the Ps3 and 360, but with a higher price, no library and less install base.Asuka Soryu said:You know, you're right. I'm sure no one owns a PS3. (sarcasam)
What's will it do? Only God and Nintendo knows.
Will it do something amazing and pull a Wii and crush its competition in sales? Maybe, maybe not. Who can say at this early a stage.
But here's the thing. Take away a the 3D and what's the 3DS? A DS with better graphics. And yet, it sold very well, despite plenty of people already owning a DS.
Now you can argue that the ''3D'' did that, but then... why can't Nintendo's new console have a gimmic with the same results?
It's why we all buy new consoles, because new graphics, new games and new capabilities will soon make older consoles obsolete.
Why did the SNES sale? Everyone already owned an NES. Because it had a more powerful graphics proccessor.
Right now, it's still speculation with no true evidence. Hell, the thing could come out making the XBox 360 look like a joke, graphics wise.
This also isn't *new*. This is *5 years old, but new for Nintendo*. These are old graphics, old games and old capabilities, just new for Nintendo.
No, it is stupid anyway you look at it. I'm mad that a new controller this gen runs me 50$. What will this behemoth cost me? 100$? No thanks. And a touchscreen on a controller sounds very stupid. I like Sony's. It slowly evolved over the years, but is still something I can easily use. The 360 controller is hit and miss with me. Please don't put opinions in my mouth.Mr. Omega said:Regarding the controller:
Because this was Nintendo: OM GIMMICK NINTENDO SUCKS AND IS FOR CASUALS!
If this was Son/Microsoft: You know what, that sounds pretty cool, I might try it!
If it was somehow for the PC: OMG VISIONARIES! THEY'RE GOING TO REVOLUTIONIZE GAMING!
Ok, two things: 1, I agree, controllers are too damn expensive.RedEyesBlackGamer said:No, it is stupid anyway you look at it. I'm mad that a new controller this gen runs me 50$.
