Ok so i'm back with another computer dilema...

So I get on the computer and start up windows and such. The first thing I do is open Firefox for sum interneting...

Today was a little different though...

I double click the firefox icon and I get the little "Open With..." box with the first option under "Recommended Programs:" is WinFX Runtime Components. I try another program and the same thing happens. Surprisingly enough, the only program that will open is Internet Explorer (yuck!).

What is going on here? Why is this little box popping up? How do I fix this problem?

That's a tad odd... are you sure you're double clicking the right click? Right click versus left click are quite different afterall.

I suggest going into IE (yuck!) then just downloading Firefox again. If Firefox fails to work, you could also just try another browser, like Chrome (I love Chrome.)

It's not just the browser...it's EVERY program I try to go into. I can't get into Control Panel "Add Remove Programs" either because it says "runddl32 Application not found", even though I went into my windows folder and found it myself

In an attempt to be helpful, I'd venture to say that something (in all likely hood a poorly written virus) has fucked up your systems "guts". You're fucked.
Maybe it is you who are "fucked"

That's just a hollow copy; it's only there to fool you into thinking you still have system32

My computer does this for any .exe file only letting me open things with IE and then IE failing, only my internet shortcut to firefox works. Thank god my alienware M17x is coming in soon.

You need to scan your computer for malware. I had this happen to me a few weeks back. It started when Anti-Virus 2010 somehow got onto my computer (remember that Anti-virus 2009 spyware crap last year, apparently they've upgraded it...). I had to get the most recent version of malwarebytes to get it off. Not sure what kind of computer you have, but you should be able to right-click on the firefox icon and hit "run as administrator" and it should open right up.

This happened to my downstairs PC last night., The PC I never use, hence is not safe. Because nobody else in the house can be bothered with the whole security thing.

Anyway, it was easily sorted. Go here [http://forums.techguy.org/windows-xp/141908-rundll32-not-found.html], download that text file, blah blah etc follow instructions, and it'll be fixed.

Then sort out your malware.

Well it's fixed...for now...

Funny because I actually had the fix on my desktop the whole time
