I played the 2.0 version when I was younger... what's it up to 3.0 now?
It was pretty fun for a while, except that every time you died you lost all your shit.

uhhh used to play it.... sucked 6 years of my life.... then it became crap cus u couldnt scam people.. lol
For younger gamers, around 10 or so, it's a pretty good game to help dip your feet into MMOs. Otherwise, I don't particularly care for it.

It seems that every kid before the age of at least 14 has played Runescape at least once in his or her life. I myself used to play it, probably when I was 10 or something, I got to level 20 and got bored of it. For some reason with whatever MMO I seem to play, I get bored of it at around level 20. Don't know why, but I do want to try and get into some MMOs.
I played it and it was fun, but it just can't stand up to other MMOs.
I hate to repeat what has been said, but it really is just a start MMO. One that will catch the attention of young gamers, but won't be able to hold it for long as they discover other, better ones.
Although, while playing rune scape, I never died because I accidental attacked a giant spider and getting attacked even though I was in a hut. Darn you Everquest!

played it when I was like 13, got bored after I stumbled into a ridiculously hard dungeon while playing for the FIRST EVER TIME, finding a fuckload of gold shit and then a ghost attacks me.
So I'm running away through this dungeon as I don't stand a fucking chance against the ghost and I see a ladder out, so I take it.
It opens up in a sealed room with no doors and a bear in the room. Death ensues. WTFFFFFF!!!! ragequit, after finding I have lost all that shit they give you in the tutorial except for all my gold a gold helmet I found and some gold ore

I started playing when I was in middle school and quit shortly after they announced that they were going to remove the wilderness' pk element.
It was fun while it lasted, I was in one of the big clans and pk trips were a blast.
I still think the barrows was one of the most fun and rewarding mini games ever made in the history of games, first person to have full Guthan, yep within 4 hours of its launch.
