yeah I used to play for a year or two. it actually used to be a pretty hardcore game, like killing people and taking thier stuff, but as more kids started playing the devs made it more and more kiddy. and now its a completely different game, improved graphics but total shit (was pretty shit to begin with anyway, just addictive).vamp rocks said:

It's a really great MMO with quests that are way more complex than "collect 6 goblin heads" or "go here and kill everyone that isn't human". It also has a more complex skill system than any other MMO I've played and, while the combat isn't actiony, it's about as turn based as WoW.

i played it with a membership and loved it. then i got battlefield 2142 and realized that runescape was such an inferior game. It's great if you havn't played anything else before but really there is absolutley no part of the game that isn't grinding. You can also bet that you will never beat the people who really play and have maxed their skills in anything.
It's simply boring. There's nothing to do and the community is annoying as Hell. I used to play it a lot, but only because of a few friends who didn't have MSN at the time.
It's an increadably boring,repetative,grindy game.Im surprized that some people have a membership for that game,imbetween the repetative,unimaginative quests all you do is grind, grind and grind some more and all so you can survive in the PVP area for two minutes longer.The game feels fine for a while but there's barely any reward for hours of playing.
Ehhhh...it was enjoyable for about a week. Then I just got bored of making campfires and chopping down trees.

I played it for years. It had great writing, lots of content, and the member's fee was CHEAP. About a third of WoW's subscription cost. So for the people who are obsessed with graphics, I can understand why they'd prefer WoW or other MMOs, but Runescape suited me just fine. Great quests.

It has recently gained a reputation for catering to the younger players, but now that it's under new management, they are trying to reverse that. I don't play it anymore, but I'll still be interested to see what changes they make.

Hmm, again it's hard to say. I used to play it and thought it was alright. You know, an hour every few days, but I just got... bored. You do have to be a member to unlock most of it (good and bad), but it was never a true RP game for me.

I have about the same opinion of Runescape as I do of WoW, and that is that I try to steer people away from it. Mostly just because it's one of those games that people pick up and then disappear from the face of the earth. Friends, family, kids, jobs, pets, everything else goes out the window when they start playing.
