"The road" the book and the movie. WHen the dad dies in the end and the kid is left alone.... it just sucks. well at least he found another family to live with.

I got choked up a couple of times during the last episode of Elfen Lied. God damn that was a great show!

I haven't read that book or seen that movie since grade school, maybe 12 years ago. The only thing I remember about that book was the bad kid falling on an axe and dying.

Agreed.
Its a book that makes me tear up every time, no matter how many times iv already read it.
I read the book in the fifth grade. The first words I said when I was handed the book "Those dogs are gonna die, aren't they?" Several hours later the first words I said were "Saw it comin". It may have been to predictable to be sad for me, I dunno.

Click made me tear up in the theater. I was 11, ok?

There is also an older move about it.
It doesn't cut out as much from the book as the newer one does and i think the acting is better.

But that part also makes me tear up....it just sucks, especially after all the junk he went through to get them.
Gahh, its such a sad story.
Yeah I remember the older movie, but this one kinda caught me off guard. And yes, it's a terribly sad story lol. That kid busted his ASS for those dogs, and to watch one of them pine away like that....ugh...
Though at the end...when the Red Fern had just suddenly grown in between the graves.....and the mom tells the legend behind it...
I couldn't stop crying the first time i read that part...

Yeah, the 'bet'. They'd bet Billy, that his dogs couldn't tree the 'Ghost Coon', that'd been plaguing their back yard. During the chase, their dog got loose and was attacking Little Ann (I think), the kid was going to use a hatchet to try and break them up (Why...I've NO idea), tripped and fell on it.
I've got to read that book again. I remember loving it. I also remember liking the movie, but not as much as the book.

Grave of the Fireflies or...

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core.

Yes, I know, it's a crappy spinoff game, blah blah, but it really hit home the way Zack's last stand was presented. You're desperately fighting off the ENTIRE Shinra army while the memory gauge is slowly cracking and breaking down, cycling through Zack's life story while his movements slowly get more sluggish and the damage just keeps getting heaped onto until the final person that he sees is the one who loved most...Aeris. And she'd be writing tons of heartfelt letters for years to a lover she didn't know had passed on...it was just sad.
