Homeworld 1, start of the game when Kharak is razed. That or homeworld 2 with Bentus. Both were good but I can't decide between them. Former did had adagio for strings that, hm.

Obscure but Odin sphere had me crying like a damn baby. What they do to my favorite character in the "good" ending was as surprising as a sudden high voltage shock to the balls. I mean, DAMN

Mother 3 definitely gets special mention, but even that can't hold a candle to Odin Sphere.
