*SNIFF* Epic indeed.

There have been some good sugestions so far, but most of them don't hold a candle against this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBsKxFrPmBA&feature=fvst

Piano Man by Billy Joel. When you listen to those lyrics, and I mean listen, you will nearly be brought to tears. It's just sad!

Without going to the obvious ones like Johnny Cash's version of Hurt, or others that have already been said, my vote goes to this...

Only song that has ever made my eyes water. I'm not sure what it was about it that made me so depressed.

The original Gimp version of Supernothing. Not that the Catch 22 or Streetlight Manifesto versoins are bad, but this is slower and more melancholic.

Any WW1 tribute to the fallen and wounded soldiers seems to be the only music that makes me feel something.

River of Tears, by Eric Clapton.

Everybody Hurts, by R.E.M.

Adagio for strings, by Samuel Barber. For those who don't remember, or simply don't know, it's the music playing in "Platoon" when Elias (Willem Dafoe) is killed. Damn, the sorrow carried with that music is overwhelming.
