Sam leveled his gaze at Nathan, "Indeed," he said aloud, "but in all honesty, I would be carefull of your relations with this one. She looks like a is a man-eater," Sam grinned even wider before slipping into their room.
Sam went to his room, grabbed his violin then walked into the living area, with a quick check of the instrument, it's anchient wood a far darker red than him, he began to play. A slow but very complicated tune, it's melody cutting clearly into the night.
No... there was no way. She gulped down any worry and chuckled falsely. "He's... strange, isn't he?"
She grabbed one of Nathan's bony hands and quickly started to pull him along with her towards their own rooms, hoping to leave that unusual conversation behind.
"I get just a small feeling that he may not like me..." She said, sarcastically. I should watch out for him later.
"Classes?" Dillon frowned. "I never really thought about what classes I should take. I don't even know what classes there is to take..."
He thought about it for a moment, scratching his head absent-mindedly. "I guess if there's some sort of literature class, I'll take it. And film studies if they have it. Or do they only do magical classes here? I've never been to a school like this before..."
He went over to the kitchen and started making two cups of coffee for Carolina and himself.
"What about you?" he asked, stirring the drinks carefully. "Any idea what you're gonna do?"
Vaguely, Rhoda wondered what was going on in the rest of the building.
She didn't pay it much attention though, she was now "in the zone".
She let the music guide her, rather than try and control it.
She began "Akuma no Shiwazaka Kamiwazaka" which was a very dark and introspective song, but also highly difficult.
Her fingers were now something otherworldly, so elegant and skillfull that they could have belonged to angels.
Every note, every hit on the strings, was an emotion flooding out of her.
The light now shrank and wrapped around her, darkening from gold to auburn.
She played like her life depended on it, and she didn't even realise it.
And here I come up with an alibi for my disappearance, and slide in a second character...
Jon awoke with a start, and found himself in a bed. After his initial surprise, his guess was confirmed as a headache and nausea descended. Yes, the change had reached it's worst stage, as his body struggled to overcome a lifelong constant flow of magic from the faerie kingdom. He would be fine afterward, but the intimidate part, and the nasty withdrawal symptoms, were fearsome. For up to several days, he would be weak, disorientated and prone to random fainting.
"Ah, you're awake. How do you feel?" asked a voice
Too tired and pained to worry about manners, Jon flooded the room with his glamor, ready to tear someones mind apart to find out what they wanted. He got nothing. Not even an enchantment of sentience. Nothing.
He sat up suddenly, terrified that he had lost his aura. As he stared around the roo, he caught sight of a man staring at the bed. In his panic, he did not think, but demanded wildly "Who, are you, what are you? Why can't I see you?"
"But you can see me, can't you?" asked the man, calmly, "You must be able to, you're focusing on me. Ah, but you're one of the Fair Folk, aren't you? I see..."
As Jon began to focus, he began to stare for real. Before him stood a stylized model of a man, like someone had set about designing an image of mankind with out the nasty, complicated details. He wondered how it worked...
"Since you asked" it continued, oblivious to his scrutiny, " I am a Clockwork Man, but far more advanced than those of the Court. My name is Elijah-Jacques Harlequin, and I am also your room mate. I presume you are distressed because you cannot read my mind, which is not, strictly speaking, does not exist, at least, no in any kind of form you could understand"
Jon lay back, satisfied and tired, and let the darkness engulf him. As he slumped, the Clockwork man caught him, laid him down gently, and left the room, looking to wander the school.
**anyone is welcome to meet me/him/it**
Character name: Among the clockwork men, they call him "Elijah Jacques Harlequin". In the main part of the school, he prefers "Automatic Jack" (someone is welcome to suggest the name)
Character age: Elijah is only 3 years old, but has a mental age of about 16
Character gender:Arbitrarily male
Elijah is one of the Clockwork Men that reside in the Clockwork Court, but he is a rather unique example, the brainchild o the professor. Intellectually he is far above the other Clockwork Men, who merely go through the motions and recycle the ideas, he is capable of real thought and feeling.
Physically, he is like the other Clockwork Men. He is powered by clockwork, which is itself powered by a self winding mechanism, and is slightly faster, rather stronger and far more durable than a human.
He is capable of eating and drinking, as he possesses magical devices inside him that convert liquids into joint lubricant and solids into fuel for he's secret weapon; a steam engine that is capable of giving him huge boosts to his speed and strength, but only as long as the fuel lasts. Sadly, the rate of conversion means it takes a lot of food to produce a relatively small amount of fuel.
A clockwork man has few weaknesses; loss of limbs are replaceable, he feels no pain nor hunger, he is unaffected by mind tricks or illusions, and he can endure poisons and pressures enough to kill any man. However, he lacks a certain emotional flare, and is inept at dealing with emotional situations.
Also, Elijah has a infallible memory, remembering everything he sees, hears and thinks.
Character personality: Elijah is, for all intents and purposes, a machine. He thinks logically and directly, and has a habit of being too literal. He is also very aware of his own ignorance, and wants to learn as much as possible about the world
Character background: Brought up in the Clockwork Court, Elijah learned very little and became intensely bored with the repetitivProxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0
and content-less life, only staying to please his father, the mad inventor. With the death of the mad doctor, he abandoned the Court and tried to join the main magical world.
Taking a version of the Turing Test designed to identify sentience in new Legendary Beasts, Elijah proved himself conscious, then sued the government for citizenship and his fathers inheritance. With the money, he bought a place at the school, and set about learning all that he could about everything.
Character appearance: Elijah resembles a robot from I,Robot, but with clockwork instead of robotics.
Character trivia: Elijah doesn't know much about favorite thins, as he has yet to sample enough to decide. As such, he consumes anything and everything ravenously, and listens to all the music he can get his hands on. His thirst for experience rivals even Jon's hedonistic delight in every detail of life
Character relationships: Roomie and friend of Jon. Jon is fond of him because he does not have to worry about his aura creating false friendship, and Elijah is happy to have a friend at all, since he knows no one
Notes: Yes, I did find a way to build a robot into this RP. And furthermore, a steam-punk robot!
"Well, of course... But I said a single word to him and he started making me out like some kind of freak." She sighed and her head, and her voice, dropped. [small]"It's the tail... isn't it? People always get angry at the things they don't understand. And when they do understand they just lump me in with the rest of them..."[/small]
Alexander was absolutely absorbed in his creation of the Brass section of his clockwork orchestra.
He didn't notice that Charles was up and moving in the corner. He also didn't notice the shadow crawler coming out of the corner. "Is the portal secure?" asked Charles in the language of the constructs "Yes Prime. We are ready to begin the movement of the items here immediately." "Begin the transportation." With that the shadow crawler disappeared back into the shadows.
Only to re-emerge a few minutes later leading a column of five luggage units. "Is this all the refugees?" "Yes Prime." "Begin the unloading. The Master hasn't noticed us and probably won't for a while. We immediately need to secure the perimeter of this room." "Yes Prime. Hold high the protocols." With that the luggage units began to un-pack dozens of Constructs onto the ground. They immediately fanned out around the room.
"HIT IT" Alexander yelled in joy and the Orchestra he had been working on immediately came to live and started blaring music. It was playing Glenn Miller's "In the Mood". "Well Charles the brass section works. I'll continue constructing the Wind and Electric sections tomorrow but for now I think a read and a sleep are in order.
Apart from the luggage units most constructs are about two inches high. The protocols mentioned are the laws the constructs live by. The Constructs are pretty much an experiment of Alexander's that continued to advance themselves. Under Charles leadership. Stuff like this happens to Mad Scientists.
Also ThreeWords make sure to keep Alexander away from Elijah. He will have a huge urge to either take him apart or inspect him.
Elijah had been wandering the school, and felt drawn towards some music. He arrived to find a fully clockwork brass band playing a tune, and in the corner, a man talking to other clockwork men. Overcome by curiosity, Elijah felt the need to ask, "Excuse me, but did you make this band? I think it is beautiful"
"Don't let me stop you," Rochelle said to Sven as she crossed to the door to return to her room. She opened it and looked around. The strange skeletal person was down the hall, accompanied by a girl she didn't know.
Rochelle breathed a sigh of relief. No bloodthirsty vampires around. She smiled to herself as she crossed the hall and returned to her room.
She smiled, happy that she'd run across Nathan before having to wander the school alone. He'd certainly made the trip... memorable. "Thanks. For helping me pick a room, and all..." Speaking of her room, it appeared that they had reached it.
"So... do you want to come inside?" She playfully wrapped some hair around her index finger and twirled it.
Damn you ThreeWords, writing things and then editing them before I notice! >_<
Not just yet. Rochelle's just been through a mental ordeal involving a vampire, and needs time to get over it completely. Plus Larkin's character was part of it, so if she meets him again, she might freak out. =/
"Why yes I did I plan to work on the wind tomro" Alexander's words just died on his tongue as he saw who asked him the question. "Bloody Hell. A fully functioning humanoid Construct and I mean HUMANOID" he laughed "You must be some form advanced Da Vincian theory and I dare say capable of independent thought yes? no? it doesn't matter a mind like that must have some form of Faustian device in there."
Yes Alexander will be name dropping a lot of Renassiance names.
Also image for what my Constructs look like. (But smaller and not armed obviously
Sven made his way back to the room where he last saw Carolina and Sam. He figured it would be as good of a place as any to start. If it was Carolina's, she might have already made it back, however unlikely that seemed to be. If it was the demon's, well, Sven would have a few unpleasantries to share with him. He noticed the door was locked, but decided to knock anyways.
She smiled, happy that she'd run across Nathan before having to wander the school alone. He'd certainly made the trip... memorable. "Thanks. For helping me pick a room, and all..." Speaking of her room, it appeared that they had reached it.

Elijah smiled. It was nice to find someone gad to see him
"I'm sorry, I don't have much knowledge of my construction, only it's practical upshots. My name is Elijah-Jacques Harlequin, and as you observed, I am indeed capable of independent thought,"

Jon came to again to find himself alone. feeling a little better, he climbed out of bed and got dressed. As he did so, he sensed someone nearby, some feeling tired, fragile, yet relieved. He recognized he mind, that of the angel he had met earlier. Exiting his room, and crossing the hall, he knocked on the door and called softly
"Hey, Rochelle, how are you doing? Do you need some company?"
So you thought you'd get away, huh?
Also, I'm just gonna assume our rooms are nearby...
Carolina pulled her legs under her again, as she had done earlier, and rested her head on the back of the couch, closing her eyes as she spoke. ?Oh I don?t know. As long as they have a film class, I?m happy. I know we get our timetables soon so I guess I?ll find out then. I know they have certain ?magical-classes? to like hone your abilities and things of that nature. Hey!? she said sitting up, an idea coming to her, ?maybe you can figure out how to control your skin that way you don?t have to worry so much.? Hearing a knock she looked at Dillon with a puzzled look, ?You?re not expecting anyone are you?? She got up, much to her dismay and unlocked and opened the door. ?Oh, hey Sven, something wrong??
