There's been SR3 DLC before, but this marks the first mission pack for the game, extending the already incredible amount of content available in Steelport. You'll get to play a bunch of minigames focused around the Genki Girls: Sexy Kitten Yarngasm, Sad Panda Skyblazing, and Apocolypse Genki, while also blasting away grandmas in the Super Ethical PR Opportunity.

There's also the Saints Book, but a majority of the 'challenges' are part of regular gameplay. Sure there's a shit load to do, but it's a slog as it's just repetative. Not to mention that three of the activities just have clones as seperate activities. I would have thought the list of activities and diversions would have increased since Saints Row 2, with a new city giving the opportunity to even give us plenty of new ones. Instead they've removed what was added in Saints Row 2.

With Genkibowl VII we're being sold new Activities and Diversions. I hope The Trouble with Clones and Gangstas in Space offer something worthwhile.

I think Saint's Row the Third might have been the most polarizing game of last year. I played everyone one of the Saints from the first. I love them for different reasons. The First didn't have a voice for me, so I could make one up in my head. The second took over control, a bit too aggressive for my taste, but the world got bigger and more stuff to do.

Saint's Row the Third was just such over the top stupidity that I loved it hard. So hard. I've been forced into serious gamer role for a while with the releases that dotted our landscape for a while that this lunacy let me breathe. Yes, I would like to jump from plane to plane in a high speed shoot out, defying many laws of physics. Thank you for asking. My only problem is that you got too strong after a while.

Genki is awesome to me. I will wait for a review to see how much content I get, but this is probably a sale.

Saints Row 3 was quite disapointing. It had less to do than SR2 and lost a lot of the character and personality. This just felt like it was trying too hard to be wacky and foolish. The second game was funny naturally, through character interaction and events that could possibily happen. It made reality funny. This one just ran around pants on head retarded screaming "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME! FART BOMBS! TEEHEEHEE! PURPLE DILDOS! HAHAHA! WE ARE SO RANDOM LIKE OMG!"

Now if you will excuse me, I'm going back to Stillwater...

Sure, there's some real problems - Shaundi's re-hashing is awful
Shaundi is the worst thing of this game.

They kill Gat and leave that pain in the ass till the end of the game. "Save Shaundi?" No thanks...

I don't know why anyone who bought the game didn't do it through the THQ store. I ended up getting 5 dollars off, free shipping, the pre-order pack, and the season pass for free.

I know this wasn't outrageously publicized, and the discount wasn't extended to everyone, but it seems like the people who bought it retail really got shafted.

The season pass is what's curbing my desire to trade in SR3 for a game on my backlog. Hopefully this content is enough to keep me interested for a few hours.
Uh...it was like 30 bucks on GMG when I bought it before release. Which means with all the DLC it comes out to about what you are saying.

So that might be why some people bought elsewhere :).

It's actually one of the easiest games I have ever played. Whenever I failed a mission or died it was usually due to a bug or glitch.

I'm actually convinced that this dlc (as well as the shit-ton of other dlc that started showing up on psn at launch, was obviously intended for the original release until THQ got greedy and said "take out half of it to be sold separately as dlc."
Indeed. It seems like a few games are doing this as a business model. Remember when it used to be about how much they could cram into a game? These days it's about what they can cut and release later.

the radio is toss
I will respectfully disagree with you there. I find the radio to on the level of GTA: Vice City for enjoyability, which is a game that I consider to be GTA game in every aspect, especially music wise.

OT: Sweeet, more fun stuff to do in SR3. Here's hoping for another drunk saturday evening playing SR3 with a friend laughing my ass off.

I think I will regard this with the same incredulity that I did with @Baby Tea: liking bagpipes.

Honestly? I found the Classical Music channel to be the only one worth listening to - with the radio announcers to be monotonous noise. And I freaking love GTA:VC.

But YMMV, I was just wishing to import Wave 103 directly into it.

Well I don't listen to the actual radio stations, I use the mixtape feature. But I enjoy the music nonetheless, but that may be because I have more tolerance for contemporary music.

Perhaps. I found most of the "modern" music to be not to my taste.

And now I feel old. Damn you!

Pffft...if they'd had a 60s radio station or something...The next GTA/SR needs to have a 60s vibe, so much that could be done with it. Electronica/J-Pop/Nuwave/Punk/Goth/Rock/BlackMetal - just something that's not a 120bpm knobwaving song. Or a 30bpm dogdeath station of country.

You could listen to The Mix. Lots of 70's and 80's music there. Some good 90's songs as well.

Yeah, I've a few from that, but that freaking Bonnie Tyler song always seems to be on.

Maybe GTA VC/SA:SR2 spoiled me.

I think this image says it best:

I don't know where it originated from but it says it all better than I, Jim Sterling, or anyone else has been able to.
I like how in the last image, it kind of looks like the letter F; for Fucked.

VC Radio was great but as an old Genesis fan, I liked VCS even more; sacrilege I know.
What I loved about the SR3 Classical station is that they were careful to pick the songs fit with that kind of game...for those of us who play the game because it's our version of Loony Tunes; one that we can control and where Acme works.
A lot of open world GTA(ish) games have had classical music stations but it's not always music that goes well.
It's not usually the kind of thing that I listen to but I haven't been able to get that Queen Dot Kong song out of my head.
Video is trippy too. Is that what happens when the kids from Napoleon Dynamite take acid?
