I'm no fan of Warcraft, but what do fans think of this new development? Are we going to see more of this?

Am I the only one that has actually cried with despair after reading this? I mean, good god, how can you POSSIBLY make a movie based on an MMO with a timeline that extends for thousands of years?

I think we need to assassinate Raimi.

Er, why "world of" warcraft movie, instead of just warcraft. Is there somthing about the movie that links it indelibly to the MMO over the RTS or is it just because the MMO is more popular.

They could be using the story from one of the books. Or maybe using the universe for a new, semi-original story. Or they could rip off Lord of the Rings. Who knows?

I hope they'll do a trilogy out of it, to get as much of the storyline in it as they can.

Sounds good I guess, even if the movie is horrible I'll still like it, after the mysterious murder of everyone in Legendary Pictures ofcourse.

On a serious note hopefully it will be good and make fantasy movies a viable genre, say what you want. I know LOTR did that but what other movie like it has been made since, I haven't seen any elfs or orcs in the cinema since then that and I think this is our only chance to see giant native American bulls that smash people with entire trees.

I don't know if this is a good idea. Video game movies almost universally suck, and I don't think you can make a movie based on an MMO. Hmmm... the main character standing around town screaming "LFM ULDUAR 25 NEED HEALZ"?

So apparently none of you actually clicked the link, because on the actual Blizzard site it says a, and I quote, "eagerly-anticipated major motion picture based on Blizzard Entertainment®?s award-winning Warcraft® universe." It mentions the Warcraft Universe, not the MMO. Before you all whine about how it is gonna be based on a huge storyline from a game that wouldn't be compatible with the big screen. Try actually reading or checking facts.

Also, ALMOST every video game movie made so far has sucked... why anyone would be surprised if this one did too is beyond me. And for the record, the Halo movie will suck, the Castlevania movie will suck, and if they ever decide to buckle down and make it, the new Mortal Kombat movie will suck.

Oh yeah... and Spyro... that one will suck too!

Why you would make a WoW film is beyond me. And its not because of my opinion on the game it just seems like the last game that you would want to make into a movie. Unless you don't really care about story or about originality or about... oh wait
