Alrighty, thanks for the reccomendations.Jonluw said:I liked Katanagatari. It has supernatural elements, but the way battles are carried out is fairly realistic for the most part.
There's also Samurai Champloo.
Man... I enjoyed Shigurui and all, but it just ended after 12eps with half the story to go... -_-Durgiun said:Anyone know of any samurai anime that are badass and serious like Shigurui? No cartoony or over-the-top fighting, but battles that could kind of sort of be pulled off in real life.
Oh, dude, I've read the Shigurui manga. http (colon) //mangafox (dot) me/manga/shigurui/c001/6 (dot) html I know how it feels for the story to just stop, and I'm not letting another victim to be claimed by those feels.SckizoBoy said:Man... Anyway...
Sword of the Stranger - it's a film, but it still has a couple of really good fights in it
Seirei no Moribito - not really samurai, but it has some of the best (realistic) fight scenes in it (as well as a slightly more prosaic take on fighting/killing)
Bamboo Blade - very much on the silly side, it's about a girls' kendo club and their antics, a couple of the fights are fairly good (the kendo is serious, but the characters are silly)
*shrug*
Samaria Champloo is definitely worth taking a look at. It is made by the same guy that made Cowboy Bebop!Durgiun said:Anyone know of any samurai anime that are badass and serious like Shigurui? No cartoony or over-the-top fighting, but battles that could kind of sort of be pulled off in real life.
