Never met the man, but I won't forget his accomplishments. Like programming all of Kanto into Pokemon Gold and Silver.
That was his project? That was one of the nicest touches I'd ever come across in a game.
Sure was, though he definitely had help. The man was a game developer first, and president second.

Already happening. Plenty of people talking about the future of the company and how it's going to be better without him at the helm. Never met the man, but I won't forget his accomplishments. Like programming all of Kanto into Pokemon Gold and Silver. Seemed like a very nice dude all-around and his enthusiasm and good humour in the games industry will be missed.
And that is why I think gaming forums need to start banning any business discussion because it's quite clear the community is not yet ready for that type of discussion. Though we all know their cheers are futile considering his successor will be aligned with his philosophy anyway. Good times.
You've also got a lot of people posting fake tweets by Polygon and Sarkeesian. Just so they can say that those people didn't respect or care enough about Iwata.

The poor guy had some heart troubles last year (hence his absence from 2014's E3) so it would seem he was not fully recovered. I am happy that he went out after working with the muppet production to make something pretty special.

My hope is that whoever replaces him continues his general work ethic as this was the guy who took a pay cut when the WiiU didn't do so well and didn't fire anyone. He took the failure himself to protect his teams. That's the sort of business that gives a good work enviroment for your staff.

However, we can't ignore the times we were surprised he was once again voted CEO, or the times decisions were made that made no sense. This is a good opportunity for Nintendo to address some issues.
...He was never "voted in" at his position. His position was for life due to how Nintendo is structured. The only time when people at that company ever stopped being president is when they stepped down or in this case died.

And secondly: TIMING, learn it. This isn't the best time to bring up business. Mostly because that is none of our concern. To say otherwise is silly at best and callous at worst.

Lol step off man, the issues are as ripe now as they were a year ago when they were being talked about. Amiibo's not being made enough, the power of the home consoles and the apparent rumour the NX isn't as powerful as PS4... Is what it is man I said my peace about him.

And there is a time and place for that. NOT NOW. Because this is how a normal person would respond to a remark like yours:

"...What is WRONG with you?"

Save the slipshod business talk for another time. Especially since it has zero impact on you.

Erm, no. We don't need grieving time, we don't really know the man tbh. Yeah we've felt the impact. But what if David Cameron died tomorrow? Politics would be a talking point.

If you don't agree don't reply, simple as.

And it does affect me. If Nintendo improved the issues I have with them I'd invest in their products, that's as much affect as can be.

It isn't the best time to speculate because today Nintendo shut down all communication to honor Iwata. We are doing baseless speculation until they make an official statement, which definitely won't happen today. Do you really think Nintendo isn't planning its future right now? We'll probably get an answer next week at the latest. Today though, the day Nintendo is silent for Iwata, isn't the time to be screaming at the company what its plans are. We can at least wait until Nintendo opens up its communications again.

Not screaming personally bro.
