I never asked for this.

Basically, a robot jellyfish.

Just one small step for man, one giant leap for jellyfishkind.

Also for discussion value; what cyborg animal would you be, if you could transform? I'd like to be a cyborg piegeon/.

Well what next, giant mutant Jellyfish?

Giant Mutant Jellyfish with cannons grafted into their...uh...chests, seeking revenge on their human creators for bringing them into this terrible world?

What have we done, Kill it, Kill it now!

OT: Cyborg-Bear...nothing stops the Cyborg-Bear.

Yeah, read about it Newscientists a few days ago. Very interesting to see that stuff like that can be made relatively easy. I'm optimistic about the future of artificially grown organs.

Why do I get the feeling that this is the first step on the long slippery road to Cylons? When we're getting nuked from space, remember that I called it.

Well I think step one of the Giant Mutant Jellyfish uprising would be to exterminate the kids who usually poke their fallen brothers with sticks :p

Maybe we can sacrifice them first to our new overlords to keep the peace.

Indeed. ESPECIALLY if said bear has Russian Vodka of some sort. That stuff is multipurpose: fuel or the cyborg components, as well as fuel/ammo for the flamethrower mounted on said cybernetic components. Just don't piss of us cyberbears. The Vodka makes us very irritable.

It's a layer of rat heart cells glued to a layer of some synthetic crap. It's not an organism of any kind. I might as well peel a sunburn, glue the peeled skin to one of my transformers toys, and call it a cyborg.
Aye, this is what I noticed as well while skimming through the article.
I feel mislead!

I'm not sure if that's technically "living". Nevertheless, this is awesome.

Maybe the Geath are..?
Back on topic, I was expecting a little more, but I suppose it will be a little longer yet until we are actually able to create LIFE, and not just involuntary muscle contractions.

Why do we insist on tempting fate with our thinking robots?

As for what animal I would be?
