Pretty sure this topic has been done before, just not sure if it's been done recently. And since my "Would You Press The Button" topic in the off-topic discussion board proved to be a surprising success, I still need to make a failed topic for the month :3. So in the words of Mario: "Here we gooooooooOOOOOOOH!"

The game is simple, My Fellow Escapists. Just as the topic says: name a game/game company you don't like, but then say something nice about them.

For instance, I'll start us off with Square Enix. Sure, they've completely bastardized the Final Fantasy series by ripping it away from it's more High Fantasy roots to turn them into...well....whatever the hell it is today, what with the whiny emo protagonists and characters that look like they dress by diving into a hamper while covered in Velcro. But one thing I've gotta hand to them: they can make some DAMN beautiful cinematic cutscenes.

EA installing return policies for Origin was a god damn brilliant move.

Yeah, I gotta go with the above poster and say that EA starting a return policy for games bought on Origin is probably the best thing they've done this decade. I really hope other distribution services take notice follow suit.

Also, Square Enix. As much as I hate the games they make, they are damn good publishers, and have published some of my favorite games to date, like Just Cause 2 and Batman Arkham Asylum.

Mass Effect 2 had a good introduction. Though, it, and the rest of the game, were irreversibly marred by the fact that it introduced fucking thermal clips.

So I take it you'd be siding with Conrad Verner in this little debate:

Personally I never had a problem with the thermal clips, and I actually liked the act of having to "reload", makes it feel more "actiony". Besides, since they're all universal, it's not like you'll ever be in danger of running out of ammo unless you're just an absolutely terrible shot.

Or, you're a sniper and they only give you 10 fucking rounds of ammo to complete a mission.

As someone who played through the game 9 times as an infiltrator - it being my favorite class - I still say that thermal clip ammo was never really a problem. The thing about playing an infiltrator is that you've gotta treat those sniper rounds as a precious commodity. The SMGs and Pistols are great for mowing down the fodder, but when it comes time to take down a heavy hitter, THAT'S when it's time for the Infiltrator to shine and bust out the Widow and start blasting away. I mean hell, the Widow is described as a frickin' anti-tank sniper rifle, kinda a "hint-hint" that you shouldn't be using it to pick off head-shots on normal enemies. You use the Mantis (which is a damn fine rifle itself, and Garrus' preferred model) for that purpose. It has a much higher capacity and you can lean on it through entire fights, after which you scanvenge for clips and you're good to go for the next fight.

Of course in ME3, you get the Black Widow and once again thermal clips don't become a problem since it has a much higher capacity, and can be modded to have even more capacity.

Nexon--for dungeon fighter online. Man I loved the pvp in that game, until it was taken out back and put down =/

Blizzard-I don't really hate them, but after the D3 riffraff they were more than generous about giving full refunds to people, even well after the shitstorm settled.

That's the problem. You're a sniper, yet they're forcing you to play with bb guns throughout the mission.

Soooo them actually wanting you to use a variety of weapons is actually a problem? Well, I certainly can't criticize your opinion if you prefer to use the same gun throughout the entire game. Though I will say that I respectfully disagree with it.

Personally that was one of my favorite things about playing the Soldier in ME2: swapping out different weapons for different situations. Felt like a right-proper badass doing that. Too bad they nerfed the hell out of Adrenaline Rush in ME3, otherwise Soldier might have been my favorite class over-all. Because in ME2, the Soldier was absolutely unstoppable. The only thing more overpowered than it was the Sentinel.

Medieval II: Total War.

Having different skins in one unit was a much needed addition. It avoided the generic clone-look in Rome.

EA: For all their hated status, EA does make some decent games. If they'd slow down their production schedule and allow devs a bit more time for well... development instead of focusing on marketing strategy and irrational deadlines, perhaps they'd have an overall better company and we'd have better games to boot. I know EA could do it, they have made plenty of games I love and will continue to play.
And if they were really smart they'd revitalize the Mutant League games for us nostalgic crowd who might love a remake/reboot of either the Hockey or Football series (or both). Deathmatch sports are fun as hell and would be awesome to have more of without having to suffer through Blood Bowl type games...
