I've greatly enjoyed my time spent playing it. I really like the gameplay, and the different classes are a blast. My favorite has to be the monk so far. One of the moves consists of dropping a bell made of light on top of your enemies. There's something relaxing about annihilating wave after wave of demons.

I tried it and didn't much care for it, but occurs to me that maybe the reason not too many people are around heaping praises on it is because they're playing the game and having fun rather than spending their time making the same three complaints about a game they didn't approve of over and over.

I fully appreciate everything you said, and agree wholeheartedly. If more people just took the time to calm down and relax, they'd find their experience to be a lot more enjoyable. So many seem ready to rage at a hair-trigger over any detail that appears to slights them, to the point where they become blinded by their preconceived notions:

The completely illogical "I don't need to play it to know it sucks" thought-process.
The "I won't even use the Auction House, or be affected by it, but the game must be evil for including it" idea.
And my personal favorite: "All I wanted was (essentially) a prettier Diablo 2, and since this isn't that, it automatically fails".

Now I don't care at all for the always-online DRM, but what do I do? Chill out and just enjoy the game. That strategy seems to be working for me just fine. Annoying? Sure it is; it's bitten me in the ass twice already for crapping out at a major moment. But I get over it, and you can too.

I enjoyed your post; your stance is an uncommon one. You appear to have the capability of acknowledging the potential merits of an opposing viewpoint; again, an uncommon trait in this day and age ;)

Hardcore mode is fun.
Got one softcore barbarian to lvl 50 and hell, then started Hardcore with some friends.
I feel no incentive what so ever to log back on my softcore barbarian.

And to all those who just hate on the game, why waste time, breath and mind on it?
No one cares about that negative attitude..

It's awesome!

The combat is fun, the visuals are great, the classes all feel different, and the loot drops are as addictive as ever.

As you can probably tell, I completely fell in love with the beta. But I'm holding off on actually buying the game until the price drops (and the servers quieten down a bit). £60 on one game (no matter how good) is more than I can justify right now, especially when I have other games to play in the meantime. I have self-control. I can be patient.

But when the times comes... *rubs hands together in glee*

(And to anyone who wants to complain about annoyance getting on to servers: I spent over half an hour persuading bloody Warp to let me get started. Fun little game, but the Origin+Steam shenanigans tested my patience far more than getting past the login screen on the Diablo III beta. And is the ability to tab between username and password boxes too much to ask, EA?)

It's a perfect action RPG. What else can I say.

The cinematics are outstanding.

The animation team was underpaid for the great job they did, too bad they seemed to have been working on a better product or were lied to.

I think diablo 3 is pretty damn fun.
Playing a Barbarian (obviously) and a Demon Hunter, and they are both great.

I quite like the story, even if it won't be hailed as a storytelling masterpiece.

The skill system has been improved over D2 (fuck you, level 40 druid ruined forever thanks to no respecs!).

Perfect? That word is criminally overused. You mean to suggest there is nothing at all that could be changed for the better in any way? Come now... In ten years when you play Diablo 4 you'll say the same thing and look back at this version and wonder how you even played it.

I dislike how misused the word perfect is. It's inane. perfect doesn't mean good, great or even amazing. It means there is nothing at all that could possibly be improved in absolutely any fashion--the graphics, the art, the music, the quality of the sound, the resolution, the writing, the design, all of it. By saying something is perfect, you are suggesting no further progress can ever be made.

A few people have said that. I didn't think it was really that great, lol. Glad I chose it ^^

Ponified answer aside, the following for it must have a will of titanium and the luck of.....a lucky thing, seeing how its been 11 years since the last one and the wait for this game HASN'T made it suck under expectation (Unlike a certain other game (I'm looking at you Duke)).

Never played it, but if it's like Diablo 2, it probably has an excellent story :D
