the lightsaber duels put the original trilogy's duels to shame, obviously. i would say that this is my favorite thing about the prequel trilogy.

also, the CGI is fantastic. and of course, just like in the original trilogy, the soundtracks are incredible.

and Ewan McGregor was excellent as Obi Wan

Oh come on, you guys you can't even see the most obvious one. The prequels and subsequent Star Wars material has kept Star Wars in the public consciousness thus continued to perpetuate it on to a new generation and to ensure that the main stream remembers the little sci-fi genera movie. Even the most hardcore hater should be able to recognize that if no new material comes our for long enough then a franchise fades into obscurity and goes away forever. If you really love the movie so much you should at least want that. (course I'm talking to generally unpleaseable people anyways...)

I really enjoyed watching Palpatine maneuver politically. I hated the Clone Army but I liked the concept of him secretly sparking a war as Darth Sideous so he could steal liberties and power as Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Still, the whole Clone Army thing sucked.
Palpatine's rise to power is the one thing the prequels did really well, it's actually believeable, unlike most of the rest of the stuff that happens.

Well, I enjoyed Episode 1 at the time, and I actually sort of liked Jar Jar Binks. Oh, I can see how he's awful NOW, but my inner child still harbors a smidge of affection for him. Also, some of the Lego models, like for the rolling destroyer droids and the bongo, are pretty damn cool.

Episode 2 had some sweet visuals. I really liked the Kaminoans (sp?) and their galaxy eyes. The sonic shockwave bombs have a cool enough aesthetic - dead silence, followed by boom - but the whole "sonic waves in space" thing makes me grind my molars into powder.

Episode 3... um... I'm having a hard time remembering it. Didn't Yoda do some lightsaber fighting and actually came off kind of badass?

Samuel L Jackson became the most bad-ass Jedi Knight to appear in any Star Wars film ever. He was no Luke I know but, he was just 10 kinds of awesome in Attack and, Revenge. Also, when Anakin fell to the darkside it wasn't so much a fall as it was a temptest-style plunge at terminal velocity through a cathedral and down into the catacombs beneath. It was cool how he murdered a tribe of Sand-people but murdering every youngling on Couruscant was just really freaking brutal. The death of Anakin was just as brutal; I knew beforehand that his physical transformation was caused by him falling into a sort of volcano but having his legs slashed off and catching fire? God, if only his final speech to Padme hadn't been so comical...

Also, Darth Maul. Finally, this:

Two words. Jango Fett.

He may of died real fast, but still.

Second greatest bounty hunter in my opinion. After Cad Bane.

Honestly i liked the prequels..i thought they were fine additions to the series...but apparently im in such a small minority that i never bother saying it. i saw the originals when i was younger and loved them to death. still do. always will. i comprehend the deep meanings and philosophy behind it all. i cant think of any praise for them aside from how they told their origin story well and got everything i always wondered about the pasts of characters down. That said i have never criticized them before and i have only one for the third one (my favorite of them all) and it goes thus: If going to the darkside caused him to choke padme..and he thought he killed her because of it..WHY did he continue down the dark path.. honestly speaking its backwards stupid and ruins the origin. it is the biggest criticism ever possible and NOONE has ever brought it up before from what i have read. thats my only problem with the prequels and honestly i like most everything else about them.

am i the only one who thought attack of the clones (the whole movie) was brilliant?. the final scenes from revenge of the sith were good but they made the emperor, AKA the DARK LORD OF THE SITH!!!!!!!!!!!!come of a complete retard. The "ORDER66" scene was good the Duels were epic and well...i literally grew up with the prequels

If there is one thing, it would be Darth Maul. Definitely the biggest bad-ass in all the Star Wars movies, especially in relation to his limited amount of screentime.

no joke true story, i was one of the kids up for the part of anikan (anekan? shit speller sorry) skywalker for episode 1, turned out i was too old for the spot when they were casting, but i can say i hate em' all since i could have been in them (although......) other than that, all three star wars prequals were a little boring, the third was the best in my opinion but none was what we really wanted.

The lightsaber fights were pretty neat looking, and they gave people a LOT of material to make fun of. That's a kind of positive. It also stood as a demonstrative example of what can happen when one man is given too much creative control and has nobody to question him.

I like the orchestral score. This [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3hAtSoOqi4] really is a brilliant piece. Everything else eats.
