Say something positive about the xbox one

Okay so I'm a PC gamer who to be honest before E3, didn't care about either of the consoles. But after this shit-storm I really am leaning towards the PS4. I'm sure by now we're all well aware of the negative aspects of the Xbox One (If you are not go visit one of the other threads here.) So the point of this thread is, I want to hear the other side of the story, I want to know if I am missing something. Because currently, I really don't see a reason to purchase the Xbox One. And so far the people who are defending it just seem to say "LOL IF UR INTERNET IS SHIT YOU ARE BAD HAHAHAHA".

So what I'm asking for escapists, is for you to convince me to buy an Xbox one.

Also could I please ask you not to post anything negative about it (as there are several other threads where you could do that and there is no point in me making YET ANOTHER) and I'd really rather not hear about the PS4 unless maybe it's a tech comparison or something.

Ok thanks guys, have at it!

EDIT: Thought this might be interesting http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update

Apparently they are allowing disc sharing and you only have to check-in online once to play a game, you can then play it offline as long as you want, none of this 24 hour nonsense.

It has the games I want to play, Halo, Elder Scrolls Online, Minecraft etc, which is why I will probably going to buy one a few weeks after it is out so I can avoid the inevitable server crash.

It's making it easy for me to avoid spoilers about The Last of Us by taking up everyone's attention.

I LOVE the 360 controller (minus the garbage dpad for any games that really use it at all) and it looks like the Ones controller will be just as good if not better. Also, it's got TitanFall on it, which looks pretty nice.

It has some pretty good exclusives. D4, Project Spark, Quantum Break, Dead Rising 3 (now that Susan confirmed on Twitter it still has all the silly) and Sunset Overdrive all look like they could be really good - as well as Forza 5, Halo etc but I'm less interested in them.

So yeah, some potentially really good exclusives. And the controller looks like it could be really good as well.

I can't convince you to buy an Xbone because it is very anti consumer but if I had something positive to say I guess it's that it has potential? Also probably doesn't smell like shit.

Shared library. I am not sure why this isn't getting more attention.

You have Steam, I presume. You know how the library works, you buy games via Steam or enter the CD key, and they're in your library forever. No more CDs, just download and play. XB1 has the same feature. Only in addition to your personal library, you can share your library with up to 10 friends. Those 10 friends can download and play whatever games you have bought, and you can download and play theirs. The caveat on all of this is that only the owner and one friend can play the game at the same time, but still. Ignore the "PS4 sharing video", this kicks that right in the teeth. Not only do you not need to hand your friend the disc, but simply by virtue of owning a game, you can always have a friend hop in for multiplayer with you.

I'm getting a new PC soon and the Xbox One has done its best to be unappealing. So I don't even feel the tiniest urge to buy it. My wallet salutes you, Xbox One.
Edit: It really is a testament to how bad it is that I tried to genuinely come up with positives outside of "exclusives" for you and I could not think of anything.

That sounds cool, do you know if you are able to change which 10 friends have access? For example if some of my friends go inactive but i have new friends who play alot, would I be able to remove the inactive friends' access and grant it to the new guys? Or have Microsoft not answered this yet?

I guess that could be open to exploitation if it was easy to do though, I could simply change it based on who I want to play with at the time. Maybe they could make it a paid service or something.

I have no idea. I'm not really paying attention to the whole console wars thing. I'm very, very solidly in the PC camp (I don't even own a television to play a console on), but I read about the shared library option and was very confused as to how that isn't getting more attention. I kind of wish that sort of thing would come to Steam, and not just because one of my friends has over 1600 games on Steam.

Probably because it's completely nebulous about how it will actually work, and because I personally am extremely skeptical about Microsoft implementing a system that would allow countless people to play games without having ever bought them. Exploiting that share feature as it's listed right now could lose hundreds or thousands of sales.

Though as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't make a lick of difference because I don't ever connect my consoles to the internet to begin with, let alone have a friends list teeming with people waiting for me to share my games.

So as far as OT is concerned: It made my purchasing decisions really easy.

Yeah sounds like it would be awesome. Unfortunately though that feature is largely dependent on how many of your friends will also buy the console, and I can't see many of mine going for the Xbone... particularly after E3.

It's also on Windows 8, so it's not an exclusive.

OT: I think Penny Arcade went there already

Joking aside, I'd like to see what they would do with the cloud. Listening to their press conference it was like a gathering of wethermen, but not much substance to it, I'd like to see more concrete uses of the cloud for games that aren't limited to storage. The driveatar thingie in that one racing game (Forza? whichever it was) was an OK idea, for example. I'd like to see more.

It most likely uses DirectX.

Games being developed for both x86 architecture and DirectX graphics would be super easy to port to Windows.
Thus it means probably just about everything the XBOX One ever manages to get will be playable on PCs.

It is actually kind of negative in a way that the XBOX 360 is junk that nobody wants to buy. Because many PlayStation 4 developers probably won't even fiddle with PC APIs like DirectX or OpenGL. Which is going to do a lot. Leading to probably still a lot of exclusive titles. Especially from companies that rarely meddle in the PC world.

In an alternate universe where the PlayStation 4 nobody wanted and the XBOX One was so popular it was successful in both Asia and Europe this time. There would pretty much be no console exclusive games other than the ones Microsoft absolutely forced. This would mean PC gamers would get everything.

I don't know what API the PlayStation 4 is using. But I'm sure it won't be as PC friendly as the XBOX One.

The digital sharing looks like a neat feature. Now if only that wasn't the only way to share, and Microsoft didn't feel like putting restrictions on who can actually share it...
