SO how is the campaign and gameplay? I was interested in Blops 2 but wanted to wait till some more people start talking about it. Also I'm not interested in multiplayer at all.

OT: Reminds me of timesplitters... That is a good thing. The soundtrack sounds amazing from what people have shown me.
So far, so good. There are some fun new toys throughout, but so far this is the type of gameplay you'd expect (granted, I haven't gotten to any of the strike force missions yet).

The multiplayer has a very robust bots suite, so if you - like me - find online multiplayer a little too stressful after a day at work, you can always beat the snot out of the bots.

Zombies is good too.

I don't think you'll find much here to change your mind if you're virulently anti-Call of Duty, but if you've enjoyed the games in the past you'll likely find something here that'll suit you well.

That's the thing that always got to me about the Call of Duty series: no matter how good or bad the game itself was, the music could usually be counted on to be at least half decent. When Jack Wall and Trent Reznor are involved, I expect nothing less than a damn good score.

I wouldn't call the Soundtrack fantastic nor would I call any CoDs soundtrack fantastic. They are usually decent but nothing amazing and this one is no different. The best song from the game that I've heard is the one that was posted from the credits the rest is massive resounding meh. I think I'll stick to my Black Mages songs and Halo OST as examples of fantastic soundtracks.

This makes me forget about Zimmer's indescribably bland score for MW2 pretty much instantly.

Ok, stoped reading there (Actually I didnt, but it was hard to continue from there).

The soundtrack for MW2 is one of the reasons I considerate it to the best COD game so far. Then again MW2 was the first COD I have played so I kind of have a soft stop for it. Maybe.
I barely like anything Hans Zimmer has done, really. The Weather Man had a monumental score, but everything else he makes sounds completely interchangeable to me. His Remote Control sound bores me to tears, and his MW2 score is the epitome of his unoriginality. I will never understand (nor accept) why he's lauded as one of the world's greatest soundtrack composers.

I'm not interesting in the multiplayer either.

Anyway the campaign was better than I expected, to be honest. The story is decent, though a bit confusing. Since you're switching between the 1980s and 2025 a lot it's hard to follow what exactly is going on, though that's kind of the point since the main characters have no idea what's what most of the time. The story isn't as good as Black Ops 1, but very passable.

The gunplay is lacking. SMGs feel like recoil-less laser guns, and a lot of the violence from former Treyarch CoD titles has been cut. Don't expect to cut people apart with heavy machine guns. There's no real impact to shooting people, something that was very prominent in World at War.

To compensate for this they added some honest to God creativity. And I don't mean turret sections. I mean there's turret sections, but there's also flying a jet (not a rail shooter like BF3, but actually flying) and controlling drones. Some missions even play like an RTS.

Also there's choices and I've been told there's six different endings. All in all Treyarch worked really hard on this game, and what they've made might not be brilliant, but it breathed some new life into a franchise that has always been the prime example of staleness over the past few years.

I haven't played CoD yet(or the past few) but it is good to see that many hardcore gamers are able to let go of their CoD animosity when they surprise us with something a little different. Gives me new hope for humanity when we are able to give up tired old trends(the I CoD sucks fad was a trend no matter how true) and see past our biases when it counts.
