The number of people scalping is relatively low, and as far as we know they're scalping their own keys. The number just sounds big because we don't know how many people are actually IN the beta.Xzi said:This always pisses me off. How do these assholes get 50+ keys when there are tons of people out there willing to legitimately attempt to help improve the product for Blizzard, and they didn't get in?

For shame I say!
You'd have to sell your bnet account then, something that is a lot more easily detected than selling a card with a key on it. There's a reason most of the ebay auctions are for the Blizzcon beta keys and not the lottery beta keys.tkioz said:mmm I'm now considering signing up for the beta just to sell the key. I honestly don't see the point of taking part, but I could use the extra cash if people are stupid enough to buy the damn things.
You know what, you can make all the analogies and little arguments you want; balance out the value of something given as a prize with the price of attending the event or equate integrity with lack-of-profit, but you're missing my main point:sidereal_day said:-snip-
Because they applied for something they had no intention of using purely to sell to someone who wasnt as fortunate as they were. Its even worse than ticket touting as at least they were paid for, this is just selling something you were given essentially as a giftsidereal_day said:Why? Because they are selling things people have a demand for?Pipotchi said:I hope all these auctions get sabotaged with million dollor bids.
