I have no idea what they were thinking in this scene.
The really creepy stuff starts happening around :50. Enjoy.
2:30 is just trippy.
What.. the.. fuck..? o_O
My thoughts exactly. Looks like it's time to borrow my brothers Wii and pick up Zelda: TP.

So far, the scariest thing is probably Ravenholm. Right behind that is defiantly the Shadow Temple in Zelda: OoT. There is one that's kinda freaky, the "Suicide Mission" in ME2 where you have that alien voice in your head telling you what a piece of shit you are and that your going to die etc.

It just annoys me how people can get scared from such a pussy game like zelda lol...

It isn't that scary, but it is the scariest part of a non-horror game.

Guess it's matter of opinion, some shit scares me which doesn't scare you. Bioshock and Ravenholm get my vote though =P

The apartment in the Chicago level of Resistance 2. All you have is a skimpy flashlight, there's always the threat of getting ambushed by the Grims, and Henry Stillman's voice over the radio did nothing to help.

After watching those creepy Majora's Mask videos on youtube, I never want to play that game again. Ever.

In the two Mass Effect games, there are areas where the only enemy you encounter is Husks (freaky cyber zombies, if you've never played the games) - in the first game, there's a side mission where a colony has been Husk-ified, and then there's the Derelict Reaper in 2. They're always creepy situations - wandering through dark, seemingly deserted places... then suddenly being ambushed by cyborg abominations that were once innocent human colonists.

I'll have to go with Ravenholm that was sooo goddamn creepy.
But the flood level on Halo:Combat Evolved was great as well.

This. Since that dude on the radio is talking too. Ravenholm of course. I also got creeped out by a certain part from Fallout 3. Let me give you a clue."GARY!"

I'd have to say the Shadow Temple in OoT. Scared the piss out of me when I was little. I still get the creeps playing through it now. Fucking redead.

The well from Zelda-OoT: Bloody piles, ReDeads and the dead hand. Very unnerving when you're a kid.
These two. Especially the ReDeads are creepy, with their paralyzing screams and strangling attack.

Many good suggestions in this thread. While maybe not the scariest, I'm going to say that for some reason the background sound effects when in the Spirit World as Raziel in Legacy Of Kain: Defiance creep me out as much as anything else I've ever played - horror or otherwise.

I'm going to have to say the 'V' dreams from Max Payne, with the Hotel from Bloodlines a close second.
I've never played Bloodlines so I couldn't comment but I agree 100% about Max Payne, when you can hear his wife crying and screaming and the nursury music still goes right through me now.

Another for me ,but I'm not sure if it counts, is pretty much every level in Manhunt particularly the insane asylum and Pigsy finale levels, I don't know if it counts because was it meant to be a horror game? I'd say not personally.

The Dark Brotherhood In Oblivion had many moments like that, especially the lighthouse.

Also how early in game they thrust you into an Oblivion gate, pissed my pants first run, all I had was a bit of steel, a few potions, and a couple of repair hammers.

So, you're mining. You hear hissing. "OH GOD FUCK".
I assume that's followed by a *BOOM* and you losing everything in your inventory?
No, it's followed by me setting the difficulty to peaceful and never entering that place ever again, unless I have TNT. Of course, that just brings me back to my original problem. So all I can do is block it off and cry in a corner, waiting for day to come.

Guess no one played Demon's Souls. Tower of Latria was CREEPY... Mindflayers were great sounding creepy monsters, but those crab looking things with human heads are the weirdest looking enemies... Skeeves me the hell out...
I remember trying to do that level alone. Words cannot describe the things that level did to me. And the second part of it, too. And the second part of the last world. You know, the huge swamp with TWO GIANT GOBLINS RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. I never want to fight them ever again. Ever.

The first dramatic reveal of the Flood in Halo: Combat Evolved.
It was so quiet and so moody and I was dreading walking down each corridor.
HCE is brilliant in its suggestivity; it's sad that the other games totally dropped this technique and just showed the flood doing previously brilliantly-suggested-only things (ie infecting people, thereby sucking all the mystery out of it and replacing that mystery with an incredibly stupid-looking animation).

In that capacity, I'd have to say Combat Evolved's scariest thing is actually the level Keyes. That's the reveal that scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

For a non-horror game Majora's mask is filled with stuff that sacred the crap out of me as a kid and some of which still scare me. See final boss.

Edit: Also XT-002 Deconstructor and World of Warcraft. New toys?! *shudder*
