Scariest In-game something...

Amnesia in the Choir going across the bridge. Most of that game had me turning it off every 5-10 minutes (Never played a horror game besides RE4). I'm glad I was home alone at that time due to my reaction.

There is a part in Condemned 2: Bloodshot where you walk into a room with a mannequin wearing a hockey mask, and when you walk by him he whispers something like "Your going to die, Ethan", which isn't scary until you turn around and the entire room is filled with copies of him. That messed me up.

easily the creepers in minecraft and i went into minecraft thinking it woul be like garys mod but well yhatzee put it better "why has it gotten so dark all of a sudden whats that rustling sound why are my instetines over their now" yeah basiclly that

It's from S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl.

It's a good game, just try not to play it on your own, wearing headphones, at night. Almost spoiled my office chair like that...

The single most terrifying moment I remember was the dogs bursting through the window near the beginning of the original Resident Evil. Being 13 at the time probably had something to do with it too...

Gotta give special mention to the sound direction in Dead Space though. Creeping through the corridors and not knowing if that clank was the ship settling or something scuttling towards you? Fantastic
