So little backstory, I started playing Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth since I loved H.P. Lovecraft and want to get into the Tabletop RPG anyways, I got up to the part "Attack of the fishermen" (The part in the hotel.) and basically shat my pants, the tense fear and frantic locking of doors and pushing slowly while screaming "OPEN GODDAMIT I DON'T WANT TO GET KILLED BY FISHERMEN", so anyway this is basically one of my most scary moments right next Silent Hill 2, the whole game.
What is your scariest moment in a game?

Oh that is definitely a scary moment for me too XD I was just watching it in a LP.

For me it has to be Amnesia: the Dark Descent... the WHOLE fricking game.

That or this one time when i was playing minecraft and a creeper just walked up to my door and blew a hole in my ceiling before I had time to respond.

Condemned 2, although not as good as the first one, has "that part with the bear". Oh dear god, "that part with the bear".

Also, both Condemned Games as well as Bioshock 1 had Mannequins that shouldn't move. Guess what they do when you're not looking.

The Part mentioned in the OP was great too, also the part where you meet "Mommy" before it. Shame that the game couldn't keep up with it's excellent start.

Sent shivers up my spine...
To be honest Metro 2033 wasn't that scary when I played it.
Maybe because I played it in a brightly lit room with my friends behind me with no sound on the speakers.

I remember that seen. It was pretty scary and cool at the same time. Basically what I felt the whole game.

Pretty much any time in Bioshock when a splicer would just magically appear behind you.

I'm a wuss when it comes to scary things.

That little section isn't to bad, but it does have a major creep factor in it

Oh I remember mine very clearly when playing that.. game. It was Resident Evil II ..(I could be wrong) where you're in Raccoon City where the T-virus has a hold on citizens and you must make it out of there. Anyhow, I was in the hotel (or it was a mansion, I can't remember) and though I was already scared as it was of zombies, something made me drop my controller.

Going through a hallway, my character was in 3rd person so I can see her along with everything around. When passing by a window, something crawled by it. Me and my brother were terrified, trying to figure out what the crap that was. We didn't move our character until a few minutes passed, and once we did keep moving it turned out that creature was a Licker who jumped off the ceiling and instant killed us. We didn't play till a year or two later from being creeped out that badly Haha.
XD I just recently watched a LP and basically the same thing happened to the person playing. Though they continued going on right after and basically nuked it to death. It was pretty scary though.

Just remembered, Condemned 1, the mall section, all those mannequins made me a special kind of uneasy.
That part in the high school were you see the corpse pop out of the locker, stupid jump scares...

A long time ago I played a game called Bloodwych on the Amiga. I had cleared out a level and was progressing up to a tower. There was a door that I had just found out how to unlock. I was feeling invulnerable - relaxed - making progress and expecting nothing. The door opened and I was jumped by a huge monster that I had never seen before and in one swipe, I was nearly out... it startled me completely.

Then there was that other time I was playing Resident Evil at night with a friend on a tiny portable TV by the back patio doors and, just as the music reached a fear-inducing peak - the cat slammed into the back door next to us. Scared the living daylights out of two grown men.

The mannequins in Condemned were so unsettling and flat out scary, yes.

I was just playing Bioshock now. I saw a Big Daddy escorting a Little Sister through Hephaestus, and naturally began to set traps for the upcoming battle. I threw down 5 prox. mines and loaded up the frag grenades, then fired.

The proximity mines exploded into a huge cloud of opaque smoke onches from my face... through which eight or so red eyes and a massive, rusty drill promptly charged at me. I jumped out of my chair.

Fun times.

For the record, all games that have mannequins in dark places usually account for scary games.

How about when you have to zoom in on a corpses' face to take a photo and it comes back to life and pulls you inside the locker? Well played, Monolith.
