Inspired by the Scariest Moments in Gaming thread, I decided to make a thread for television. As the topic says, what is the scariest moment you've had watching a television show.

For me, it was watching the Doctor Who episode "Blink". I'd heard it was creepy, but I figured "I'm 21, I can handle it," and watched it for the first time at 11 PM. Big, big mistake. I was shaking in fear for about 15 minutes after the end of the episode, was constantly looking over my shoulder while typing on the computer for at least 3 hours, and did not go to sleep until daytime.

The other episodes featuring the Weeping Angels are freaky in their own rights, but this episode was terrifying, not just creepy.
Yeah that was creepy as hell. Steven Moffat is just too good at coming up with monsters to creep out young and old alike. Not only did he write the Weeping Angels episodes, but also created the Vashta Nerada (living shadows, yes kids you're RIGHT to be afraid of the dark), and the Silence, who you forget as soon you turn your back on them. They also look a bit scary, but that's the least of their creepiness.

EDIT: captcha was an advert for some American product. Horrible idea.

That one episode of Pingu with the gigantic seal. YOU KNOW THE ONE.

And while I would love to contribute my experience with the horror that is "Blink", I watched it on DVD...with a friend...in broad daylight.

"It's the bear, it's the bear, I'm cooo-miiing..."

"I'm the bear, I'm the bear with brown... fuzzy hair...."

Why they thought the scary-as-all-fuck voice over was endearing to children I will never know. Had the same kind of tone as Naughty Fred from Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Well since you didn't specify children or adult tv programs I'm just going to post creepy disturbing shows aimed at children audiences.

Adventures of Mark Twain:

Goosebumps:

Goosebumps 2nd opening:

Are You Afraid of the Dark:

Tales from the Crypt Tales from the Cryptkeepers:

Invader Zim

Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3xAkPlk7xg

Batman the Animated Series:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEx9r5enZsk

Most of those shows has some very creepy disturbing episodes that went a bit overboard at times and even went a bit into demonic or adult tv territory.

Then here are 2 shows that were meant for small kids and these seriously seem effed up.
Maybe I watch to many horror movies...
Check it out for yourself.

Anytime Zelda Rubinstien spoke on Scariest Places On Earth.

No, really.

I also second X-Files.
There was one episode where a drawer moves out and all you see are eyes looking out. It's such a brilliantly understated scene that it just chilled me for some reason.

Also, i agree with the other people in this thread talking about the earlier episodes of Supernatural.
The 1st and 2nd season ones are damn scary. Especially 'Everybody Loves a Clown' and 'Scarecrow'.
I hate clowns. So very much. Watching the dude wake up to see his little girl holding a random clowns hand will haunt my dreams forever.

All of it.

That show didn't even freak me out a little bit as a kid, but now looking back at some stuff on youtube...
It's fucked up, man. Genuinely disturbing shit right there.

This however I was a kid well teenager when I watched that episode which made me leave the room (don't know why I did that as I could of change the channel).

I found the Empty Child/Doctor Dances episodes to be pretty freaky.

Apart from that, my manly manly-ness makes me immune to your mortal fears.

Muhahahahahahahah!
Are you my mummy?
Don't joke about that shit man, that gives me the freakies.

Nah, not now, but when I watched it it just surprised me how terrifying it was.

The clown episode from Supernatural. I don't remember the name of the episode, but that had me crapping my pants when I was younger I'm not a big fan of clowns and this episode kept digging the knife in deeper, especially at the beginning. Seeing the clown standing by the side of the road waving and outside that little girls house *shudders*
Season 2 episode 2 - Everybody Loves A Clown.

But yeah that one scared the shit out of me when I was 12. In retrospect it didn't make much sense to be scared of it seeing as you have to invite it in. Supernatural was so much more awesome when it was just random creepy monsters. Though Castiel is cool.

WHY DO YOU PUT THAT PICTURE UP? THE IMAGE OF AN ANGEL IS AN ANGEL, YOU'VE KILLED US ALL!!
OT: I don't watch much TV apart from Doctor Who and MLP:FiM/various cartoons, so I hardly have reference for scary stuff. I guess the Angels were pretty scary, and the empty children scared me when I was younger.

I hope you know that made image made me have a relapse to my childhood nightmares.

Most of mine have already been named, but this one caused several nightmares for me and my sister since we watched it when we were really young (maybe 5)
