Just the commercial spot for The Grudge. I was a fairly young kid when I first saw it, and the commercial terrified my brother and I that my Mom thought that we cracked our heads open. It was so terrifying that I didn't turn on the TV by myself for months.

I can be kind of relative, the film that scared me the most was 'The Blob' because I was like six when I watched it and I thought it ate a dog. I had nightmares for months after. By now I've seen so many horror movies that it just doesn't affect me as much.

I'd say the entirety of Eraserhead.

And every scene with Leatherface in The(original)Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Also, this particular scene from Twin Peaks.

The ending of Sleepaway camp. because of how hard it hits the uncanny valley.
<spoiler=Longer explanation>The killer in the movie is Angela (really a boy named Peter) who's sister was killed in a boat accident and his/her aunt took him/her in and since she already had a son she decided to raise Peter as a girl and call him by his sister's name he/she is bullied to the point of murder at the camp and the movie ends with a Peter/Angela killing a boy who liked him/her after he/she showed him his/her secret. the movie was supposed to reveal the twist in this scene by showing Angela's actress with heavy make-up and fake genitals but since the actress was underage they decided to make a plaster mold of her face and make a male college student wear it for the scene
It is WAY more unsettling than it sounds.

OH! The Pale Man scene from Pan's Labyrinth. I know it's supposed to be more surreal and other-worldly than distinctly scary, but FUCK! If you DON'T get scared a little by that guy, you have fucking problems.
Yes, that's true, but did we forget when
Captain Videl beats the hunter's face to a bloody pulp with a bottle? Monsters are scary, but impossible. Humans doing scary things is scarier because they can actually happen!
Personally I find the most horrifying moment to be when the captain tortures the stuttering soldier. I used to have a bad stutter and that scene almost brought me to tears since I went through so much abuse for the same thing.
I'm glad I'm over it now.

The entirety? I think the movie had just as many laugh out loud moments as it had generally frightening scenes. Often I didn't know whether to laugh or scream XD. Really that movie is both disturbing and hilarious.

Scariest? The ending of Don't Look Now, an absolute classic. It's about the scariest 2-3 seconds I've ever witnessed. So fucking intense. Anyway, I won't post it because that would spoil it. Everyone should go see that movie, Sutherland's a genious.

I know it's not really scary but it still made me jump when I watched it in the cinema the movie "Drag Me To Hell" when the main character (it was such a memorable movie I've forgoten what any of the characters are called :3) lays back down on the bed, all that when through my head at that point is, "The evil woman will be laying next to her the evil woman will beOH MY GOD THE EVIL WOMAN IS NEXT TO HER! D:" so all in all it was a damn jumpy movie. :3
...That scared you? Jesus man, I laughed at that film! That was the point of it. And I was in the cinema alone. XD

OT: Hmmm....difficult to say, really. I'm a horror film buff, so I'm usually scared. But the creepiest for me is the end of The Shining, where the laughter and ballroom music plays as it focuses on the photograph.
I think Drag Me To Hell was meant to be a bit of a comedy, it was like a live action Scooby Doo episode. It did have a few jumpy moments though :3

Yeah, the Pan´s Labyrinth scene is awesome, but scary as hell. The whole movie is pretty creepy. Good call on the Donnie Darko one too.
I thought the most messed up Pans Labrynth scene was when the army general person bashes a guys nose in with the bottom of a bottle in front of the victims father.

OT: None of them have ever been really scary, just off the top of my head though The Decent when there is a like a quick glimpse of the monster behind a woman on the camera, not scary it just makes you jump.

Yes, the scene in REC where

the firefighter hits the bottom of the staircase

It isn't that scary, you just don't expect it AT ALL. Movie was pretty lame from that point.

mfG diebane
I thought the scariest scene in rec was
The big reveal with the boy in the attic, the witch look a like, and the big reveal that the zombies are so much worse than merely infected...

The Thing (1982) by John Carpenter.

I watched it by myself alone at night...my god...I had sworn I'd have nightmares, but I had none (that I remember at least; rather implied with everything).

I can't link any videos because A) I don't want to spoil anything and B) It really ruins it to have it cut out, small, and with a bunch of other junk around it like on youtube.

"...negative, Icarus. We have enough oxygen for four crew members to survive."
"Affirmative. 4 crew members could potentially survive."
"Trey is dead. There are only four crew members; Cassie, Mace, Corazon and me. "
"Negative. Five crew members."
"Icarus... who is the fifth crew member?"
"Unknown."

Kudos if you know the movie.
