Scariest movie you've seen.

The amount of gore in a movie isn't what I consider scary. I like things that fuck with my mind without ever telling me why I've drawn the horrifying picture in my head. My brother and I agree that Blair Witch Project is a really scary movie (don't hate!) simply because you never see anything, it heavily relies on auditory things, and leaves it all up to you. Because the human mind is a fucked up thing to begin with, you end up scaring the hell out of yourself.
Also in that category is Paranormal Activity. People think it's stupid because they think the ideas of ghosts and possession are stupid. Fair enough. That said, you never see anything (except a shadow on a door, and you're like OH SHIT), you hear everything, there's a lot of waiting for things to happen, building up the tension, etc... I don't know, I just think psychological thrillers are the best when it comes to making me too afraid to get up and turn the light on.

Oh, forgot to mention, the movie itself didn't do much for me, but The Grudge has made me terrified of grey asian children ever since I saw it. Good god, those little bastards scare the piss outta me.

I watch a lot of horror films but only one has ever actually made me afraid and that was the fourth kind, idk why because it's fairly silly when you look at the thing as a whole but it really got to me. couldn't sleep that night, was too scared of owls.

Damn that is a hard one... Hmmm Shutter or R-point. They did F me up really good.... Since I did watch them at like... 2-3 in the morning 
Martyrs. I'm really quite hardened when it comes to horror and gore, I've been watching scary movies for 20 years. That movie disturbed the ever living shit out of me.

The Ring didn't really do much, until I got home; was watching tv with my mate and we had a powercut. That was fucking traumatic...
The Thing gets some good points; and 'Darkness Falls' made me sleep with the light on for a week. Scariest film I have ever watched... ALIEN. That chestbursting scene was awesome...

Its sad but 1988s 'The Blob' terrified me. Then again, being under the age of 5 would make any horror movie scary.
I get a few chills from Jeepers Creepers, but love the film.
The Ring scared me a bit when I first watched it, for a week until I didn't die, lol.
Then generally realistic sciency ideas scare me more than films. Cabin fever was terrible but the idea of a flesh eating virus.. or any deadly virus is a bit scary

No horror movie has managed to keep me tense throughout the entire thing. Weird thing is, Courage the Cowardly Dog manages to not only keep me tense but also scare me at certain moments.
Steven King IT used to give me naightmare as a kid. Also films like Phantom and Bram Stoker Dracula still scare me to this day.

If your roommates ever suggest to watch those back-to-back, decline and don't do it politely. I got absolutely no sleep that night. Those movies rekindled that whole childhood fear of the dark. Couldn't sleep well for a month.

About a group of young adults who get killed because of their use of technology. I found it scary because of the way they died and the fact that they were systematically being taken out and their friends would be right there with nothing they could do. A whole neighborhood was killed off in about a week and only one guy in a penthouse survived by destroying all his phones, computers, machines, internet, and only had his TV with static and lighting rocking back and forth to himself.
