Does Alma from F.E.A.R. count? She doesn't look like a monster, but she does some pretty monstrous stuff.

Yeah, I know you didn't like F.E.A.R., but there's something more subtle about her that scares me. Your mileage may vary.

There shall only be one TRUE answer. Ladies and Gentlemen: PYRAMID HEAD!

He's big, he has a giant sword, his hobbies include murder, rape, and beethoven, and HIS HEAD IS SHAPED LIKE A FUCKING PYRAMID!!!

Really? No one is going to say it? Alright...Pyramid Head. We all know it, all you guys who don't agree clearly haven't played Silent Hill 2. What's scarier than a monster that slices you in half with a giant butcher knife and then proceeds to rape you? Go ahead, try to think of one.

Thank you guy above me, I didn't finish typing in time for me to be ahead of you

Necromorphs from Deadspace. Deadspace is still the only game that ever really scared me. I have had nightmares about that game.
How does that thing eat and chew? It doesn't even look capable of opening its' mouth with those teeth in it!

I've faced off against Albinos before, they can't effectively sneak up on you so I was never actually afraid of them.
They can when your Busy shooting Raiders just to turn around and get a Stinger to the Face.

Any enemy that can take that many shots from Vengeance before dying effectively freaks me out.

And now I'm inspired to make another post

My brother's Dogmeat to be Specific. That thing could take 5 Bottlecap mines and still rip your head off. It probably had nearly as much health as Winterized power Armour.

They're incredibly strong, shuffle towards you slowly, regenerate limbs (eluding to the name, no doubt) and are only killable if you know where to shoot.

*shrug* Never hurts to check mid-post. I do it all the time, just to make sure nobody beat me to it, but I guess that's just a personal thing.

Good call. I suppose, technically, I didn't post Pyramid head.

I've seen a few things in SPORE that scared me a fair bit, but I don't think it'd be appropriate for me to post images of them here, given their phallic morphologies.

No they're both just mutated freaks of nature (which is worse than a regular freak of nature because it's mutated).

The huge eel in Super Mario 64 freaked me out when I was a kid. Since then, any underwater creature tends to frighten me.

No we call thoses rapists and pedophiles, and while they are scary and rather creepy they aren't monsters. SPOILER ALERT! They're people! *DUN DUN DUN*.

Walking around the landscape in Fallout 3 in the dark is scary as heck things jump out of you from all over the place. I suck at playing scary games I am way to jumpy and even Halo flood guys scared me.

Of course the Freak part was caused by Mutation, so how does that work?

Dead Hand scared the ever loving crap out of me when I was a kid:

He's so creepy looking, and at a young age, he really is quite terrifying. Especially when you first enter the room and see all of those hands sticking up out of the ground... *shudders*

It's a freak that has been mutated to be twice as freaky. Is any of this getting to you? This is important information!

The Mutated Rancor from Jedi Academy comes to mind, though Abominations from Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta are also scary.

And, of course, where would fear be without Xenomorphs?

No one can kill it, and it has the power to turn you into a zombie.
