Hm, it could work.

I would also like to point out that if the thing pinches you, you should try tickling it's belly [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut_crab#Relationship_with_humans] to get it to let go.

This spider scares the crap outta me

Hey, how did you get pictures of my sock drawer?

EDIT: Ooh! Ooh! I got some pictures!

This picture is real, believe it or not.
The second picture looks rather cool! I would probably want that as a pet!

Ever woken up to have a huntsman spider a foot above your head? They aren't venomous.. but the fact that a big brown spider (big for a huntsman) was sitting there while I slept was enough to make me leap out of bed faster then ever...

And even though this happens... 20 times a year.. (live near the Aussie bush) It still freaks me out. Otherwise I'm not freaked out...

OT: Eer....I'll just wait for someone to find the link to Souplex's thread about Sidney Funnel Webs....Or whatever they're called...
Don't you mean Ultrajoe's...? And yeah, that's the correct name for the spider right there.

I'll never understand some people on here...

"Aww...look at that deep-sea creature that lives on dead whale carcasses and looks like it belongs in a Sci-fi movie"

I was starting to wonder if they'd act that way if I held one up to their faces -_-

That is a bird. Ergo, that is a massive spider. Although it's not particularly deadly, bite-wise, I really don't care. If I see one of those, I am turning around and leaving.
what is that spider called? it is huge!!

It's the Giant Golden Orb Spider.About as poisonous as a black widow, but it is much less concentrated, and so only gives painful wswellings/sores.

The Escapist isn't really a picture sharing board. It's meant more for discussion. Read the posting guide lines please!
This. Maybe we could discuss the most dangerous insects, with complimentary pictures?

Oh yeah! Thank you, and I guess it's kinda understandable as to why I got them mixed up. To the editing!

After reading that other thread, I'm never going to Australia! Holy crap, I'm not even arachnophobic, which according to Firefox isn't a word.

Anyway, bugs don't really scare me unless they fly. There's something about the flying ones that just get to me. Wasps, bees, hornets, yellow jackets and the like...Texas has them all. And while I've never been stung, the things certainly seem to have a liking for me.

The scariest thing was once when I was in my room and I felt something tickle the back of my neck. I picked it up, it squirmed in my hand and freaked me out, and I threw it down. It was some kind of zebra looking wasp thing. I didn't ask questions as I killed it on the spot.

Speaking of zebra bugs, there's this thing called the banded alder borer. <spoiler=Pictured here>:
[/spoiler] That is probably harmless, but freaks me the crap out as it's like some kind of war cockroach.

Consider that those are bees it's eating. Which tells its size. And by extension, the size of the stinger.

I'm not a bird so I'm not phased one little bit... *looks up*
