Seeing a thread about dreams, and seeing a thread about scary movies, I was reminded of a scary dream I had last night.

This one might be a little edgy for some of ya, so Parental Guidance is suggested. Read it and sympathize with my horror (or laugh your pants off as your more apt to do) and tell us some cool / scary / silly nightmares you've had. The posts are up to you but be fun, graphic descriptions of organs not required.

Not the big toothed monster coming to get me sort of adventure. I have no idea I'm dreaming at this point (I'm not one of those lucid dreamer types) and I am in the shower. Then "my junk", as we colloquially call it, just up and fell off.

No gushing blood or pain or anything like that, but can you imagine... I was in a state of shocked panic. After a minute it occurred to me I should probably call an ambulance (still freaking out) which is when I woke up.

I have no doubt this is my subconscious using some pretty direct and graphic metaphorical imagery on me. But I can't remember being so petrified from a nightmare since I was a kid.

The scariest dream I've ever had was when my father came in through the door. Gave me a long hard hug and said goodbye. Then he left through the door again. And when I looked out the window he was nowhere to be seen.
The next day I find out he had died the night before. Pretty scary.

EDIT: I just remembered a funnier one. My mother had hired a cute and short Asian assassin chick to kill me 'cause I wasn't handling school properly. And when she's chased me for a while she stops and says : "I love you". So i stop to, she runs up to me and says "just kidding!". She stabs me and i wake up. I know It's just a boring chase dream. But the twist was nice wasn't it ^^

Last night I had a dream where I had to fight off my mother(without hurting her...), because her and my father were plotting to kill my real mother, with a bowie knife.

Now given both the mothers are the same person...I really really should not post late at night.

And there was that one time where my RP character showed up to save my RL persona from drowning.

Hints for avoiding bad lucid dreams
1) Remember that your left foot has a left hand screw and your right foot has a right hand screw, so if you're being chased, unscrew your feet and you can run much faster.
2) Never think you've won a battle as you automatically lose it.
3) Anytime you see a sharp object, imagine it blunt; as you can't be stabbed or cut that way.
4) If you're falling, aim for the red and white striped canopy.
5) Your left ring finger renders anyone naked, your right ring finger forces them to like you.

(These are all based on the fact that your brain still works logically and can't assimilate new information with all it's sensors disengaged, so it will follow what you tell it. You can make up your own as long as they're based on some meme, and reasonably complex.)

...I have never had a nightmare. At the bare minimum, I've never remembered one.

NEVER

And it's not like I haven't watched freaky stuff; I just plain don't get nightmares.

I once had a nightmare a long time ago about shopping carts from space... yup, landed in a UFO and everything. You'd think it'd be a hilarious dream, but that was pretty freaky.

When I was six, I had a nightmare that 12 foot tall metal windup toys started chasing me. As soon as a huge red duck bit my leg, I woke up to find that leg was asleep. Scared the crap outta me...

I ussually dont have nightmares just really freaky dreams that make me think WHAT THE FUCK right when I wake up. For example a couple of years ago I had a dream were I was defeding my ex (was my girlfreind at the time) from some type of apes and after I fended them all off my girlfriend stabbed me in the back with a knife killing me and for at least 3 minutes all I could see was her contiuously stabbing my carcus over and over again. Shortly after that dream my girlfriend broke up with me cuz she was tired of her friends making fun of her because I wasnt a jock (I am not really a nerd just a small one) and she was very beautiful and populer. This isnt a joke its real and I am still a bit betrayed by the whole fact that I defended her throught the whole thing and she still left me.

Sounds like someone was watching "Grindhouse Planet Terror".

Anyways I had a dream that could be considered scary and stupid at the same time. Mine was having the lower half of my body being eaten by my pants.

No, thats not a typo. . . I had a nightmare about my pants eating me. I can't make that up. Pants with large teeth, running around trying to eat me. I think I was trying to protect myself by sitting ontop of a car, out of their reach, which was when I woke up.

The night after I finished reading World War Z, I had this dream that kind of scared me. I was in some sort of convetion center, and one of my freinds was doing a lecture about something, I was half-asleep (isn't it sad when you dream about sleeping?), but I woke up right when she got finished talking. I decided to go up one floor for some reason, and I was buying something from a gift shop when I saw a few zombies. No one else seemed to have noticed yet, but I knew that would change in a few moments. I used what The Zombie Survival Guide taught me and immediatly ran to the stairs to get to higher ground. By then the entire place was in full panic. Me and about 200 others managed to get to the rooftop before we barricaded off the stairs. I saw several military helicopters comming our way. The others probably thought they were being rescued, but I knew we were being quarentined, the fast way. The zombies were breaking though the barricade and the helicopters drew closer. A zombie bit me at the same time the lead Black Hawk fired a missle. That's when I woke up.

I'm a lucid dreamer, and this was kind of like that, only not (like my subconscious was completely screwing with me): I woke up in my room, but everything was all trashed and beaten up, and nobody else was around. After the usual weird dream "calm assessment", I decided to wake up. With a little effort, I did, but I then realized that this was the same dream I'd just woken up from. This went on for a long time (felt like hours) before I came to the conclusion that I was in a hospital somewhere, in a coma. I couldn't wake up.
Worst night of my life.

I, just recently, had the most frightful dream of my life. Before you read on, know that my biggest fear is being alone in a large complex whilst being watched. It was almost like an out-of-body experience i was Chell, Portal's protaginist, or someone other test subject that gas fallen prey to GlaDOS, in a big, empty test chamber. Keep in mind, the sterile feel of the chambers only makes it worse. There are cameras all around me, and GlaDOS' voice was echoing throughout the chamber. "Hello, subject 13324. On exstensive reveiw of your performance so far, we have deemed you unfit to continue your testing. Please proceed through the orange portal in front of you for "de-breifing"". I was forced to procede through, on the grounds that the side walls were coming in on me. I am now in a dark room. Outside of the room i here GlaDOS say, "Goodbye." The orange portal closes. I wake up. The scariest part was that it felt so real. I have always been a lucid dreamer, so this was extremely frightful.

I have this recurring nightmare where I'm alone in the house and someone knocks on the door. I go to answer it and its the Devil. I panic and try to slam the door shut, but he forces it open, ties me down and rips open my stomach with his bare hands. I die, my soul begins to ascend to heaven and the Devil gives chase. Just as he's about to grab my soul I wake up.

I've recently (past couple of years, before then if I had a nightmare I didn't remember it) started having probably what you'd call nightmares, though they don't actually scare me.

Most recent one was my Dad had given me two buttons, one wired up to someone I know (though I can't remember who) and the other to some random woman. If I didn't press one of the buttons (which would kill them) by a certain time, then I would die.

Also had one where when I was younger, my Dad was going to be executed by gullotine (modern day though) and I was trying to stop it, but because of my age I couldn't really do anything.

After playing HL1, related to that monster thing in the water at the end, I had on consecutive nights and shark trying to eat me, and a tiny 1ft crocodile trying to eat me, although both only succeeded on gnawing on my hand a bit.

The other night I dreamt that I was pregnant (I'm a male), it this dream lasted for ages and went through the whole pregnancy until my 'water' broke and for some reason blood just came pouring and pouring out (50+ litres or so?). Gave birth and then woke up.

I've been a pretty good lucid dreamer so when I sense a nightmare coming(the ominous innocent yet creepy clown doll, the weird noise when you're all alone) I just tell my brain to wake up and (guess what) I wake up. but usually I would be so tired I'd fall asleep again. But there are time's I miss the signs.

One pretty recent one is that I fell into the ocean and kept going down the abyss until I reach this black oblivion where nothing of comfort exist save for the ominous sound of a sea monster's growl and the swish of fin(now I would've broken the dream and woken up but had damn sleep paralysis). It was scarier with my paralysis as I could move and could only vaguely see in the blackness

Not a nightmare but something more weird, I dreamed that I woke up, went to school, and lived my day until night until I went to sleep... then I woke up for real. I knew that was a dream because there was no metaphysical proof that the day had happened and it was still only one day after yesterday
