Not a scene per se, but as a kid I was always freaked out by the X-files theme music that plays during the intro. In fact, if you were to play it to me right now I would probably still tense up even today.

The reason why even I don't understand this is that I had no problem with the series itself as a kid. I had a very strong separation between reality and fiction even back then, so the show never really scared me, but that damn theme music still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck...

This, 'Ernest Scared Stupid' gave me nightmares for most of my childhood, but this scene in particular. (up to 1:30)

I didn't even realize it was a comedy until recently in my adulthood when I re-watched it, I guess I watched it at a young enough age that the comedic factors didn't register and it was just a bunch of scary monsters abducting children.

Edit: You know what, fuck it, that scene is still scary.

Dont know if anyone here has ever seen the pagemaster but several parts of that movie scared me big time. Mr.hyde and the moby dick part in particular had me hiding behind the couch.

The Animals Of Farthing Wood, is a surprisingly grim cartoon. I vaguely remember some grim stuff in it.
Oh yeah, every week a character got horribly killed for no good reason.

That forest scene too, always terrified me :(
Fuck y'all ninjas! That part was the creepiest shit ever! My mom still likes to remind me of it.

The part in Spirited Away where night falls and the spirit world awakens didn't exactly freak the fuck out of me as a kid since I only saw it like once and the movie is so weird overall I might have been just scratching my head for most of the time. But I still remember it being very unsettling since I'd only seen mostly Disney movies and I had no idea where it was going to go. The spirits with the little masks for faces were very unnerving when the boat arrived ashore and they started coming out of the cabins. Only seeing the masks floating in mid-air but having whole shadows cast on the wall sure as hell creeped me out.

I also happened by coincidence to see part of the South Park movie when I was like 8 years old. It was the part where Kenny's ghost appears before Cartman at the execution event, and it just scared the piss out of me. Suddenly having a kid's ghost jump screaming out of nowhere scares any kid.

Also, remember 'Prince of Egypt?' Because that was probably the most 'inappropriate for kids' kids movie that has ever been created. Remember the plagues that God sends upon the 'heathen' Egyptians?
Jesus Christ... literally.
Holy Jesus, how could I forget about that? To me the scariest part was the part where Moses is tripping out in the chambers and seeing the murals on the walls. Throwing babies into alligator's mouths and turning rivers into blood? SURE, put it in a kids' film!

Neverending Story.

All of Neverending Story.

Watership Down, due to the fact that pretty much 60% of all of the characters die in almost hilariously abusive and violent ways.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

That bit where the Angels faces change..shudder
Mine is from Lost Ark as well. That nazi with the stutter kept me up at nights. Man he freaked me out lol.
I think its fair to say I've never been able to watch the opening of the ark scene since the first time. 'traumatized' is kinda a strong word, but, yeah, it left a pretty horrific impression on me.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit, when Judge Doom transforms into his 'true form' - the way his voice changed freaked me out (especially when he says "I TALKED JUST. LIKE. THIS"), Not to mention the fact that his friggin eyes literally dropped out his skull. I dont know why, but the bit where he jumps across the room on spring shoe's also freaked me out.

Edit: How could I forgot about this? This was the most terrifying thing ever when I was kid. Hell its still creepy now.

Was there anyone not scared shitless by this? he gets slowly crushed, cartoon physics plus a real life actor is disturbing already and people getting melted in general freaked me out.
When I was a kid, the Scene with the shoe was probably worse to me because I was only about three or four. I don't think I ever finished the movie until I was about 10 or so, but this scene still scares me as an adult.

I was afraid of a lot of things as a kid, from Horror movie box art to the dark to skeletons to First person shooters, so there is quite a bit I didn't like as a kid, but off the top of my head, the Scene in Jurassic park when the fat guy gets eaten by the little acid spitting dinosaur scared me a bunch. When I used to get up to go to the bathroom at night (at that age), I imagined that thing following me quietly to the toilet. Needless to say, It really freaked me out as a kid.

Any scene with Ursula in The Little Mermaid, and pretty much anything involving Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty. Fuck my life, those two haunted my dreams for many, many years.

...yes, I'm a massive sissy.

Disclamer: the following post was written by someone who was a mega-wuss as a kid (still retain a high startle reflex but few things can give me lasting terror these days)...

I can think of many things that scared me as a child...

first the bad guy from Who framed roger rabbit.. most scary moments being his disturbing death and when he melted that shoe :( (I still find him creepy as F***)

when I was very young (like 3)I was scared of the villain "darkheart" from the care bears movie
(no picture because he actually is not that menacing)

got a ps one for my birthday a demo disk that came with it made me run screaming from the room after seeing part of the parasite eve trailer on it (the disk was then confiscated by parents)

(I have since looked up and viewed the whole trailer, it appears to be a pretty interesting game. kinda obscure now as it was an M rated horror from the time before there was really a market for them..)

my sister was forbidden from watching Are you Afraid of the dark when I was in the room or talking about it due to nightmares on my part.. (I got over it a year later and became a big fan of the show)

age? the ant fight scene from honey I shrunk the kids gave me nightmares about giant ants for several years...

A woman gets forcibly transformed into a killer cyborg in Superman III:

This messed up a lot of children, traumatizing some, giving weird fetishes to others.

Anyone ever see the animated movie "We're back: a dinosaur's story"

If you did then you know exactly who and what scenes I refer too when I say that my sheets were in the wash pretty much every night for a solid week.

For those of you who missed out on this movie, I really can't describe it in words and convey why is scared me. Everything that scared me is rather unimpressive now but good lord was I scared shitless, it was a good movie though so me and my sister watched it a lot.
