"I am Legend", with Will Smith. The dog scene. I think I would have gone just as bat shit crazy.

"Never Ending Story", the Horse in the Swamp.

"Harsh Times", with Christian Bale, the last favor his friend does for him.

There's more... but I'm already getting kind of depressed here...

There is one scene that occurs in both Full Metal Alchemist animes that make me bawl like a *****. Of course i'm talking about
Hughes' funeral, and as if it wasn't already sad enough his daughter starts asking why they're burying him. Why did they have to kill Hughes?

The near-beginning story montage of Pixar's UP, and the scene at the end where
he opens the book and finds the message from his late wife, "Thank you for the adventure. Now go have another."

The ending of Pixar's Toy Story 3...enough said.

The scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where
Harry has just come back from the graveyard with Cedric's body. As soon as Cedric's dad comes running out of the stands crying and yelling "That's my son!" ...Man, I'm getting choked up just thinking about it.
That scene almost always made me choke up just a little bit, but after having a son of my own, I just lose it every time I see it.

The only video game that has made me cry is Lost Odyssey. The scene where Kaim reunites with Lirum as well as some of those "Thousand Years of Dreams" memory sequences were just pure gut-punch. Also, the ending came close to breaking me into weepy man-bits, until that unexpected thing happened, then I was just shocked and surprised.

It's alright, I've had enough spoilers about R2 (mainly due to my friends obsession with Norio Wakamoto) that I don't really mind any more. I will get around to watching it eventually, and have a bad enough memory that most details fade away.

It's a blessing and a curse.

Do books count? If they do, then the part in Harry Potter
Where Snape kills Dumbledore.

Ending of Titanic, ending of Hildago, and, in One Piece
When they gave a funeral to the Going Merry. I swear, it's a mark of an amazing anime when they can make me cry over the "death" of a ship.

I remember when I left the theatre and a whole bunch of people had red puffy eyes. I guess this is testament to how much actors contribute to a scene, since pretty much everyone knew this was coming, but still.

Damn near the entirety of Up. From the opening montage to Carl looking over Ellie's Adventure Book before the climax to the following spoiler.

That moment at the end where Carl gives Russel the "Ellie Badge"? When he moved his hand away to show the Grape Soda cap on Russel's sash it broke me like a twig. I went from smiling at a reasonably happy ending to blubbering like a fool.

Similarly, the ending of Wall-E. You know what I'm talking about.

Definitely this. Hughes was by far one of my favorite characters in the Fullmetal Alchemist series, and to have him die like that, then show the funeral? It was heartbreaking, and I'm a man enough to say yes, I cried when I saw that the first time. Every time after, I STILL got rather teary-eyed.

Also, for those who have seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along blog, and for those of you who haven', SHAME ON YOU, since it is web-series GOLD, the end was strangely compelling and heartbreaking. It also had one of the best songs in the series/movie, next to the Bad Horse Chorus (and subsequent reprise), and Brand New Day.

[HEADING=1]Obligatory Warning! This thread may contain spoilers! Read on at your own risk![/HEADING]

I understand this thread may be hard to do without spoilers, so yeah tags at the ready.

For me, the biggest tear-jerkers were in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Kamina dies, and, later, when Kittan dies. Dude, shit was rough.

I mean dude:

Also, in Game of Thrones

Ned died I shed a single tear.

Oh, and all of Grave of the Fireflies. Every. Single. Scene.
Man, that one hit me hard when that happened. I mean you wouldn't expect someone that awesome and charismatic to die.
If that's a blanket statement encompassing all three examples I posted, then I approve wholeheartedly.
I was actually "Kami" here but yes the other deaths you mentioned were just as sad.

I would say a couple of movies that made me cry. Though I forget the names of these films and/or most people said them already. SO I shall say one that no one mention yet.

LAND
BEFORE
TIME

Just land before time. With little foot. God that was so sad...

Old Yeller, god damn it! He was a good dog, and they had to play him like that. Don't think anything has ever been that sad to me.

The opening scenes of Up really made me want to, but I was with my sisters.

If books count:

When Will and Lyra have to say goodbye, because if one of them goes to stay in the other's world that person will become sickly and die, then they realize they can leave one portal open and think they can see each other, then remember that they have to let that portal be the one in the world of the dead.

This very first time I saw this episode was the day that I buried my dog. I had had him for 18 years.

I cannot watch any part of that episode. Ever again.

About half of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Gandalf's speech to Pippin at the gates of Minas Tirith, the ship at the Grey Havens, the fall of Sauron, all that stuff. Some of it was because of the atmosphere of the scene, some because of the nostalgia when watching again, in most cases its both.

I almost cried at the ending of the last episode in the scrubs 8th season (even though it's not that good if you look at it a second time)

I'll be generous and pretend the 9th season does not exist
