As I was sitting between classes today I starting thinking about my school's mascot-

This little piece of nightmare fuel is Wushock, a sentient shock of wheat because Kansas.

Anyways, this made me curious about other escapist's mascots, so post away!

(Note: We've all seen pulp fiction so don't bring up the UC Banana Slug... unless you actually go there)

No pictures online that I could find, but my high school's mascot is a Bobcat, so we get the honor of our mascot essentially just wearing a fursuit to major events. It's rather terrifying, actually.

No no, my school in Australia has one too.
This thing but with some school uniform on. It's pretty lame but the lower years get a few chuckles out of it.

COME ON MAN. You're Australian, so where's the Australian sense of humour??? That Roo should at least have boxing gloves on, if not wearing stubbies and carrying an esky with BBQ tongs.

We didn't have a mascot. In fact, can't think of a single Gold Coast school that did. Only group I've been with that had a mascot was my army unit. We had a shark at Seaworld named Bruce.

Ours (high school) was a panther, but as far as I'm aware, we didn't have a mascot costume for anyone to wear.

Here in England we don't have school mascots, they just seem like a waste of money and effort. If the mascot is an actual animal instead of a dude in a costume, then that is awesome.

I would much prefer that than seeing my tuition money go towards this and athlete scholarships.

In a big way...my Elementary school had a mascot despite having no competitive teams or presence in the community at large. I haven't had to set foot on a campus since 2007 so I'm just going to list the school mascots that I allowed to pass me by because School Spirit is for people from the 1950's.

Elementary School - Wheaton Wildcats
Middle School - Parkland Panthers
High School - Wheaton Knights

I don't think my Community College had a mascot and if it did I completely had no fucks to give at that point. Oh shit, people may be able to stalk me now that they know more and more about where I grew up...eh.

Elementary School it was Pirates

High School was a dragon

Community College probably didnt have one

First Uni was a snake which is funny cuz its a catholic private school

Current Uni is a roadrunner which imo has the best design out of all those other mascots I saw

Highschool was an Eagle.

College was a Dragon.

I can understand wanting to associate with certain animals. I can even understand the wheat mascot from Kansas, but I'm pretty sure mythological creatures is going too far. A Dragon for a college located in Upstate New York... Did I miss the fantasy novel explaining how Dragons were native to North America?

Fraternities misrepresented by mascot's large testicles.

Fort Collins, CO- Colorado State University's Greek Council members petitioned yesterday, gathering signatures from various Greek fraternity members in hope of dismissing the schools own mascot Cam the Ram. According to Greek Council leaders, Cam?s massive nuts have misrepresented the schools fraternities for decades.

One senior fraternity member, who has asked to remain nameless, stated, ?Cam?s balls are distorting our perception of normal genitalia size. He?s portraying an unrealistic set of nads, which has caused a lot of disappointment amongst sorority members who are left unimpressed by our much smaller balls.?

During yesterdays petition over 500 less endowed Greeks inked their signatures in support. Out of the 23 fraternities represented at Colorado State University, all were present at the event except for the schools black fraternity.

The Board of Governors will be reviewing the petition next week and a decision will be announced before semesters end. The Greek Council hopes the Board will agree to replace Cam as the schools mascot or at least remove his family jewels.

Calls were placed to Cam the Ram for comment, but he was unable to answer as he has hooves for hands.
That's probably about all you need to know about our mascot, but for reference...

See that stunted leg in the back there? It's not a leg. He's got a harness for his balls when he runs.

That's about what our mascot is known for though. Biggest balls in the NCAA.

My High School had a Saxon as a mascot. Thought that was pretty interesting and unique (at least for the Northwest US). Granted we're talking about warriors from Old Saxony and not some bloke from the modern one.

You wouldn't happen to be from Florida, would you?

Nah, man, sorry. Up in Northern Virginia, near DC. You got the same mascot down there?

It's a shame they always recycle the same few mascots over and over. They need to pick some new animals. Sure, eagles and bobcats and wolves and stuff are all majestic, but nothing beats a good ol' axolotl.

A bobcat? Which school, if you don't mind, do you go to? I have a strong suspicion that I may know you...

OT- We have fucking bulldogs. Bulldogs. Don't ask me, I had no part in this. -.-
