That's about what our mascot is known for though. Biggest balls in the NCAA.
In Elementary School, we were the bulldogs. Not bad. (I transferred to that school from another but I can't remember the mascot from the previous.)
Junior high, were were vikings. I was mostly meh about it. The cheer routines were fun.
Then came high school. We were the chaparrals. According to all the pictures, we appeared to be a roadrunner. But if you look up that word in the dictionary, it says that a chaparral is some type of plant. A bush. I don't know how the hell this mascot came to be but there you go.

My high school was the Maroon, which in present times is a color but back in the day was a runaway slave. Ah, the South...

My high school had a ridiculous mascot, it's called a fluco. Originally it was a flying boot(fucking ridiculous) so when it came time to change it we had several options like the falcons however we instead decided to stick with the fucking fluco. Then when I got to high school they changed what a fluco was from a boot to a flying F. Literally an F with wings. And the mascot at our games was fluco man. Someone who dressed up as a superman like guy, wore a mask and his underwear on the outside.

My high school's mascot is the subject of hot debate because Utah. It's technically a Red Devil, but only because that was the name of the company that supplied the cement to build our school in like 1920 or something. The source of controversy is therefore usually Religious, but we did have some Native Americans claim it was a racial slur...so go us?
