Nonsense, it has been heavily used throughout the Neu-Who as a deus ex machina. Of course Moffat is a bit of a ham-fisted hack and relies on it even more than Davies did so it shows. See the Third Doctor, the "good episodes" of the Fourth Doctor, and the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors for how it should be used, sparingly if at all. Wait, you can skip the Sixth, Baker the Lesser isn't so bad, but has most annoying companions ever, baring Adric.
Got any episodes in particular you would recommend? I've seen Genesis of the Daleks, Eathshock and the 7th Doctor's thing with the Daleks (their last appearance in the original series) and I'm looking for more. I've been meaning to see Future War, but that is long and I have limited free time. And if it matters, of 4th, 5th and 7th I probably liked 7th the best of what I saw, but I haven't hated a Doctor yet.
All of the Louise Jameson/Leela serials starting with The Face of Evil, best companion the Doctor has ever had. Stand outs include The Robots of Death, The Horror of Fang Rock and if you are feeling forgiving towards the creature department The Talons of Weng- Chiang.
We're talking about Doctor Who. My default position is to be forgiving in the creature department.

I can't wait to put up cabinets with this. Work on a workaround for dead lock seals and I'm sold.

One can not be "gay" for David.

Everyone has to love him by default.

You didn't know David Tennant was Scottish... Well, yeah, don't you know we are actually all timelords?

Is that why Scotland looks like it's stuck in the mid 19th century?

Researchers in Scotland have created a real-life version of The Doctor's most famous tool
...

But science has now taken some preliminary steps toward turning sci-fi's most famous handyman tool into a real-world device.
Um...those two things aren't quite the same.

Alright, science. Here's the deal. You hand over your latest toys and I promise not to take over the world with them. Honest!
Trust the man with the Enclave avatar, they never did ANYTHING wrong.
