I am not going to lie, I only clicked on this article to find out what a Tsundere is. Despite the SCIENCE behind this, if some chick is a *****, I am not going to pursue any kind of relations with her.

I don't understand the point of the study, actually.

Apparently, people like it if other people suddenly treat them better than before. WHAT A DISCOVERY!

Also, Could someone translate this to English? What's aTsundere, and who is this Moe they are talking about?

What's funny is that Lilly is blind so she had to have the drop on him because otherwise I can't see her getting Hisao with that sword otherwise. Also very creepy but cool in a sense *thumbs up*
I think she's using her cane there, actually. And it's not like Hisao is bright enough to start running even if she does come at him with a sword anyway.

'Er, Lilly, what are you going to do with that thing? Did you accidentally switch it with your cane or are you going to cut a cake? Lilly? Watch out, it looks sha-AAAAAAAARGH'
-GOOD END (for Yandare-Lilly).

I quite like a lot of tsundere characters (though none come to mind at the moment.) Yet yandere characters interest me more for some bizarre reason. It must be the kinda makes sense if you look at it funny sort of logic they have that makes me so fascinated with them.

The science reasoning just looks like some of my idle wonderings fleshed out a bit though. Not sure what to think about that

If you don't get what yandere is just look at Yuno from Future Diary. No other conventional "yandere" character can stand up compared to her.

I would link to tvTropes... But I suspect many people have multi-tabbed their way to the yandere page already due to this article.

It's worth noting that not every person who treats you like dirt is trying to hide a deep-rooted romanitc attraction that they just can't admit to. Some people just genuinely hate you.

I wonder if science can explain my genuine hate for anime and all the stupid cookie-cutter cliches that come with it.

I wonder if science can explain why people consistently click on articles and threads concerning things they don't like/things that piss them off, just so they can comment and ***** about them.
Don't worry, there will be plenty of ME3 boards to saturate with ignorant hate for the next few weeks :D
Gentlemen,

OT: Huh, that actually makes a lot of sense, thanks for the article!

What and or who is in that picture? Very cool.

To the topic; yeah I can see why they are liked, but they can probably get used too many times or get done wrong and ruin some if not all of the story they get put into.

Tsundere is smalltime. Yandere's where it's at.

Aww yeah! Yandere represent!

This article is just as FABULOUS MAX as this ^^

*Ahem*

To be completely honest, I have a keen dislike for the textbook "Kugimiya Rie" tsundere. It is overdone, grating and very pretentious. That might be because having at least one tsundere in a bricks-for-brains harem show is mandatory, but I dislike them all the same.

Textbook ones, that is.

Like the chick in the headline pic, and a mere handful of other shows, we occasionally meet tsunderes who are not defined by the trope. And these chosen few actually deliver.

Why would you ruin my dreams like that? WHY!? Return my innocence!

You think that was ruining your dreams? Ehehehe.

This is ruining your dreams: http://pastebin.com/iPPe6sBr

(Summary: KS, but everyone's yandere for Hisao (mostly). Hijinks ensue.)

Like you say, hadn't even the most low-brow members of the human race pretty much figured this out a long time ago, and this is just a more needlessly complicated way of saying it?

Science! Doing nothing but telling you what you already know since NASA fell on its ass.

Silly, if she just hits him hard enough with the first blow (which he won't be expecting), he won't be running anywhere for the next ones.

I love it when people don't understand a subject.

Tsunderes are not women who are constantly mean. It says this outright at least three times in the article (so perhaps less misunderstanding of the subject and more misunderstanding of the English language) Tsunderes are women who are intially hostile, but then become nicer. What you're thinking of with constantly horrible women would be 'abusive.' There's a difference.

Anyway, interesting enough bit of psychology here, sounds reasonable enough.

...seems a rather small sampling to try and draw anything from. Not to mention that the experiment hardly adds much in itself, as it was already known that the segment of tsundere fans liked when an initially unpleasant boy/girl love interest mellows out towards the protagonist, and all this study showed was that people liked such a development in a general non-romantic context as well.

That doesn't really offer much to latch onto as to why they like it, certainly not in a romantic context. Or what happen to differentiate the tsundere fans from everyone else (...if the reason for their attraction was to be found in general human nature, then wouldn't one expect the attraction to be very common?).

With the info presented here, the study thus seems rather lacking in scope, and the conclusions now unintendedly drawn from it shaky at best. Aside from the whole logical obstacle that if only a segment of people are attracted to a specific personality, then it probably have something to do with their own segment's specific personalities as well, rather than anything inherent to human nature.

Tsunderes can be irritable. Yanderes will do you severe bloody harm and be in complete glee about it.

Am I the only one who read Nautou as Naruto for most of the article?
