[small]Wooh, more religious debate (yeah)...[/small]

Science originated in religeon because religius teachings were bases for most philosophical thought in the ancient world.
But quite a lot of science based around religious teachings turned out to be wrong.

For example, it was a quote in the bible that gave us the theory that the sun span around the earth. The quote itself was something like "Sun stand still.", giving the idea that the sun was moving, as if it actually moved around the earth.

simple, my point is the thought that originated the quest for truth that is science began with religious thoughts towards the unknown.

like I said, Religion-->philosophy-->science
That depends on how far you look back. You could say that the cavemen lighting the first fire and realising how to do it was a scientific discovery, and I'm pretty sure that was done long before religion. True the point where people actually started to seriously dwell into the vat that is science was influenced by religion and philosophy but that doesn't mean that it started the original exploration of science.

This will not end well. Religion, one of those topics you don't bring up in polite conversation, unless you're seeking a war.

An interesting point, but I'm not too sure that I'd agree with you there. Mind you, without Religion we wouldn't have Society, so it does play an inadvertent role.
