ennio morricone composed some the best music for film, the good the bad and the ugly has a better soundtrack than scott pilgrim

can we included films that use music composed by Mozart and Beethoven and other composers?
if so then Amadeus has the best soundtrack ever!

Scott's OST is really good, but not best in comparision with some others (most of them mentioned in comments above this)...

I actually found the music to be quite terrible and generic, especially that of Scott Pilgrim's band. But eh, to each their own.
It's meant to be. Thats the joke in the comics and the film (more so in the comics) is that Sex Bob-omb (the band scotts in) isn't any good. Though the music ended up being okay and I like it anyhow

SP vs. The World has music that I will listen to more often then other movies because its fun. Sex Bob Omb and Crash and the Boys are entertaining. In all seriousness, I love both those fictional bands but I'm not calling it the best movie score. I would say Hanz Zimmer is a innovator in that area, Brian Tyler is also a good movie score writer as well. Daft Punk came out of nowhere with Tron. All I think are great, but I'll stick to my Sex Bob Omb and Crash and the Boys. Why? Because I'm So Sad, So Very, Very, Sad.

In order of soundtracks it goes like this:

Imperial March >Forest Gump > Oh Brother Where Art Thou > The Good, The Bad and The Ugly > Scott Pilgrim > other
Fixed it for you ;)
whats this imperial march sounds like an interesing film :p
(call it star wars because it does have other good songs ^^)
There were other songs? In all honesty I am not the one to ask about music in movies, most of it I forget about or ignore. Now music not in/made for movies I am better with those.

SPVSTW has no place in a greatest songtrack list when it comes to movies.

It's firmly set in contemporary pop and is therefore subpar to everything, especially when there's starwars, anythign hans zimmer... fanfuckingtasia...

Someone brought up REPO!

hoW about... RENT?

Fucking CHicago?

Pirates of the Carribean?

The Last Samurai?

GHostbusters?

yes. scot pilgrim had some of the greatest movice music to date. alongside it was daft punk's soundtrack for tron, which is going to win an award for best movie soundtrack i heard. and this is from 2008, but go watch the movie Repo! the genetic opera. it's a rock opera and it is AMAZING. from the producers of Saw, even though they turned down the project several times, which was dumb of them to do.

Disagree. I haven't seen the movie because it looks extremely bad.[footnote]NOTE: I will probably see it eventually since everyone says it's good. I hope to be proven wrong. I love getting proven wrong when I think something will be crap.[/footnote] But the song alone seemed pretty generic.

I loved the soundtrack in Black Swan. It was perfect, just like the rest of the movie. And the Tron: Legacy soundtrack was really good, too.

The album is great since I bought it (I only buy album if I liked them alot). Yeah Black Sheep is one of my favourite but I also like "It getting boring by the sea" by Blood Red Stones, "Threshold" and "We are the sex Bob-Omb" by Sex Bob-Omb.

Don't worry OP, I agree, Scott Pilgrim had my favorite soundtrack this year.

Tron came DAMN close, I'll freely admit, but I love the movie, and the songs were just icing on the cake for me.

I don't think Garbage Truck was all that great, but Threshold rocks my socks every time I hear it (because that's my favorite part of the movie).

Beck did one of his best works on the soundtrack for A Life Less Ordinary.

But yeah, Scott Pilgrim's soundtrack is pretty badass. I own it.

Bunch of philistines; anybody with class will tell you the best soundtrack ever is Grease.
If it can't be a musical then I go for Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

It had Brie Larson singing "Black Sheep". I'm inclined to agree with you OP.

Had some good songs, like the Bass Battle. But most of the actual songs sounded like crap. I think the Tenacious D movie had better songs.
