I could leave Dear Esther alone, but after how the Chinese Room handled A Machine for Pigs, I give no sympathy to their "experimental mechanics."

They can't write good stories, they don't know the point of interactive storytelling, and they they've done the same thing with every single one of their projects. I call them "projects" because they have only made mods for for existing titles and have yet to make anything of their own yet.

Korsakovia, Conscientious Objector, Dear Esther, A Machine for Pigs. All exercises in walking simulation.

Their response to criticism? A mere "games shouldn't be limited to your idea etc"

At least the Gone Home lets you explore.
At least the Stanley Parable tries to talk about choices in games.

Play RPG maker games instead. Ib has puzzles and nice art. Yume Nikki lets you form the narrative yourself.
