Fire Emblem: When I get raped by the RNG

I attack twice and have a 99% chance of hitting
My opponent attacks twice and has a 1% chance of critical hit
I attack first
I would kill my opponent with one sucessful attack
My opponent would kill me with two sucessive criticals

Chances of me dying: 0.00000001%

I died

Happens to me every time I try to play Left 4 Dead on expert.

I make it through a few chapters fairly easily, but I always get to that one area where I keep dying no matter what strategy I decide to try.

Then I decide "SCREW IT!" and unload on my teammates. Then I blow them up.

Then I burn 'em for good measure.

Edit: Oh yeah. Also Mega Man & Bass. The last level. Only time I've ever screamed at a game. Not so much a "Screw this game." More like a..."FUCK THIS GODDAMN PIECE OF FUCKING...FUUUUCK!"

Got the final Esper, and on the way out I died.
2 Hours to the esper with no crystal, 1 hour fight. All of that work gone to just a few bats, and blobs.
I did go back and get the esper though.

Lost Odyssey. It sat unopened on my coffee table for two weeks before I played it, I was already having trouble sustaining interest in the game, and then I got to the first save point and realized, holy crap--save points? Seriously? Bullshit. Games used to feature save points because at the time, the technology forced them to, sort of like how NES games had to have thirty-character passwords. The age of the save point is over, Japan.

So I quit the game, it gathered dust for a while, and then I traded it in and used the credit on a copy of Beyond Good And Evil.

I'm going to get right to the point.

Have you ever had a "Screw This Game" moment?

I just had mine. Playing Far Cry 2, which for some reason dosen't have an auto-save feature. I did a lot of missions, went to a bus stop, and the game crashes. Easily an hour of progress lost. "Whatever", I thought. I should have saved, my bad. I start the game up again and do a couple of the missions. "Aha! I've learned my lesson, I'll save".

The game freezes in the menu screen.

On a sidenote, should I keep playing Far Cry 2, or should I just give up?
Try having all your Far Cry 2 save files corrupted... at 92% game completion.
And yes, try again. I just thought to myself after it happened, "It's only a few hours more gameplay, just suck it up and do it."

And as mad as I was at myself and the game, I did it.

Just remember to take some good anti-personnel weapons for the final mission.

Assassins creed. The game play was okay, but the cut scenes were SO long and the story of it was SO awful. I never went back after the first night.
Bad story? Assassin's Creed? Methinks you didn't play far enough into it.
Yes, it had a bad story. They came up with this huge, unnecessary explaination about BS genetic memory. The in game game play was OK, but the cut scenes were god awful.

I have those moments at least once during every Counter-Strike: Source session.
You mean like when you get instant killed in the very begining of a round and then have to sit and watch the rest of the round as two campers sit and wait for eachother in opposite ends of the map?

I've had this problem too lately for two reasons. The first is in Fable 2, for some reason my game freezes every 15 minuets almost on the dot, I finally got so frustrated that I had to stop playing. Second was the insane dificulty that is presented in the artic base level in Iron Man (not the greatest game to start with) I was getting blown away from the begining, and was just about to throw the disk across the room.
I had the same problem with Fable 2. if you've got a big enough hard drive you can save the game to the hard drive. it fixed the issue for me.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
I saved RIGHT before a fight I can't possible win (the ogre in Stillwater, I saved right before he spawns if I want to walk out of the cave), got angry, barely touched the game since.
Also Ninja Gaiden 2 after seeing my little brother against the final boss. I really went like "Screw this, it's pointless."

Driver 3 or driv3r if you will. I played through the horrible gameplay and idiotic "beat the clock" missions (should i mention there are no saves, and there's more shooter missions than driving ones) in order to unlock the 3rd city - Istambul. And it was nothing special. So much for feeling rewarded. I left the game after i completed about 70% of the storyline

How was the explanaitian of genetic memory BS? It made perfect sense to me, and it explained why the Animus worked in the first place. How far did you get into it anyways?

I couldn't even finish the Legendary demo. It was just oddly unbearable. Seems strange that a game so SEEEMINGLY similar to my favourite game, Half-Life 2, could be so awful. I could never put my finger on what was different about Legendary that I hated.

Golden Sun, when I was younger. I kept fucking up at some part where you have to hike through a desert. I don't remember exactly but I think there was some deal with a tornado or something and I just kept getting sent back to the beginning. Eventually I just said fuck it and put it down forever.

The hotel level of Silent Hill: Homecoming. The bit where you have to get those postcards for the old lady. One savepoint before I talk to her. I get all the postcards, but get killed by a nurse on the way down.

Repeat.

Repeat again.

Rage.
