4chan's /b/ and Encyclopedia Dramatica's Offended.

There, I said it before everyone else could. ^_^

Edit: I forgot, the YouTube Comments section.
I don't see why everyone has a such a beef with 4chan. I'm a regular visitor, and the people who go there seem fine to me. Plus there aren't any overly strict mods like elsewhere on the internet.

Facepunch, the users are so fast to flame you for just about anything.

I know it was already mentioned, but Youtube. Awhile back I watched this tribute video to the 9/11 victims. The video showed a plane being flown into a building, the wreckage afterwards, and people jumping from the tower. Most of the comments were, "OMG 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB IT WAS BUSH!!!!" or "lol I laughed. America deserved this."

I don't see why so many people hate /b/. It's light hearted and funny. Encyclopedia Dramatica has some gold once you wade your way through the rubbish.

OT: The GameTrailers forums are bad, I mean real bad. Its full of 13 year old fanboy retards. The 360 fanboys will go raid the PS3 section and teh PS3 fanboys will go over to the 360 section. No one uses the search bar (it's not really that bigger deal but when there are 4 threads on the first page about the exact same thing it starts to get a bit annoying.

Don't get me started of the religion and politics section. If you are curious go see it, its funny for a little while.

The other major problem is the system of the forums. It's kinda hard to explian but if you sign up you will understand. Its just the little things like you don't get a message when you get quoted and people have ridiculously large and colour signatures. The signatures are good but then that same person posts 3 or 4 times on the one page it gets kinda annoying.

Well, there's always the obvious stuff like 4chan and the YouTube comments, but the place that I've actually posted that I think is the worst would probably be GameFAQs. They have a rather high percentage of fanboys, trolls, and fanyboy trolls.

Plus there's that whole insanity with the GameSpot forums being sorta shared. I'm not even sure how to describe it. It's like they have two separate forums, with two separate sets of rules and two separate mechanics and two separate sets of moderators, but every time you make a new thread or post in one, it shows up in both. Mostly. Of course, links and images don't even work in GameFAQs, so that leads to lots of interesting confusion. Plus everyone in GameFAQs thinks all GameSpot users are stupid 12 year old Halo kiddies, and everyone in GameSpot thinks all GameFAQs users are 30 year old fanboys living in their mother's basement. Forum wars get a bit weird when everything you post in your forum shows up in theirs and vice-versa.

Well, while 4chan isn't as bad as those who've never been on it say, most of it is still stupid, pointlessly offensive, and just generally mentally deficient. I was on there for 2 weeks, nearly turned me off the internet.

Then I discovered this place! Yay!

I think the worse places on the internet are probably white supremacist websites. I was reporting one of them (a joint venture between British skinhead group Combat 18 and Northern Irish paramilitaries the UDA) to some sort of internet regulatory committee and looking at some of it, it really truly showed how perverted the human psyche can become. Seriously, if you ever meet one of these people online, never entertain them by being offended by what they say, just ignore them because they are all, without deviation, pathetic, uneducated and small minded bigots.
Took the words right out if my mouth...

The Race Supremacists, the Religious Extremists, the Hate Groups, and the rest of the associated pissants are usually the ones that make me feel depressed to be in the same species as them.

4chan is not bad. I've only been sick on /b/ twice. Verbal assaults, racial assaults and the like are ineffective, because everybody is anon. I don't see how it could really rot your brain (maybe you're social life), but at some points it can be pretty enjoyable.

Youtube community, however, is fucking awful. These aren't the social rejects in /b/, these are average people. Average people with horrible grammar and spelling, uneducated minds and a weird affection with the letter X.

The Spearhead.

4chan's /b/ and ED are, more or less, being facetious, and are more extremely dark humor than anything. Hell, I find quite a few of their memes hilarious, and /b/ really isn't that brain-meltingly horrible. The Spearhead, on the other hand, is totally serious in its misogyny, and worse yet tries to pass itself off as being fair and leading a social movement. See my thread on them for details [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.181341-Misogyny-in-masculism-featuring-The-Spearhead#5352561].

Penises. too many penises.

OT: One time in school, I found a web site scribbled on a desk. Out of curiosity, I tested it out. Big mistake. it opened an endless continuum of multiplying pop-ups. Nearly crashed my computer before I could pull the plug.

Youtube. I once had an argument with someone who was defending hitler and saying that he was right in the genocide.

Genocide isn't really an option for anything, even euthanasia, as it is too blanket.

As in the Tabletop game? Isn't there an official forum where mentioning the Squats gets you a lifetime ban?

After moving from the crap of one forum I joined Aussie Nintendo and was pretty much immediately flamed for saying a game looked cool. That really sucked. I left soon after. No big loss, the user was a tool and I couldn't be bothered dealing with it so soon after I had joined.

I tried Nexopia just now and read a post called "i am an attn seeker" which was basically about this chick that wanted attention and a bunch of people feeding her attention. And another thread called "i've also got newwww iiinnnkkkkk" about some girl that got a new tattoo. Really not my sort of forum, I was bored in minutes.

Encyclopedia Dramatica, you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany.

Still, it's the hideout of Anonymous, and all that nudity and hentai is probably just a way to keep out outsiders.
