Honestly, I don't mind Youtube/Google redesigning their site. It's THEIR site. If they feel the need to make a change, they can do it.
My problem is they don't give us any warning. At all. Would that really be hard? A few days or weeks before they make the change, they post the message "We're changing Youtube's layout on the Nth." They don't seem to have any problems with the post "We're conducting site maintenance."
Or, they could set up the new layout as a beta site, and get user input before making it official. That way, we still get a warning, they still make their changes, and the new layout is more optimized to user, er, use.

That is, all the recommended videos (which take precedence over your subscriptions) are uberpopular videos because YouTube wants you to watch the most popular videos with the most advertisements so they can make the most money. Small channels will almost never get featured videos or recommended videos on the main page - not even in the related videos as much as more popular videos.
That i noticed as well. the suggestings and recommendations used to be much better. although it could be worse since i barely even use youtube now. i never ever watch featured videos, just out of spite since they all seem to be retarded. Very rarely i use the "similar" videos, only when something catches my eye. usually ill find a cool guy and watch his uploads form his channel page (which they also ruined, especially with the "load more" thing, WTF, why not jut have pages like any other decent site) and so the "Small folk" usually are as imprtant to me as the "big folk". I have noticed that those who run games "because i want donations" usually not do it the way i like. There is however soem good and popular channels, like TotalBiscuit.
