i built a redstone rapid pulser and made it connect to a bunch of torches around a tower. a handy visual guide if you have max setting and can see for miles.

thats why you always carry a compass. you could go and download INVEdit kill yourself and give the stuff back to you. i did that after losing alot of very valuable things in a very deep lava pit.

Well, this is one reason I tend to build paths of some sort connecting everywhere I go.
Used to be a network of skyrails, but nowadays I prefer not to build anything above ground ... just have a lot of underground railways.

Day 2 of my experience with the ulitmate sandbox game. I've made finally made an impenetrable fortress, have started two mining projects and have grown confident in my ability to handle threats.

Then I get on a boat.

So 3 hours after crashing into some algae I'm lost. I was an idiot and took some valuables with me so I don't want to just commit suicide and die. After spending one night in an emergency house (which was ruined by a creeper in the morning) I'm now on a different island after crashing my second boat and locked in a box made of wood with three spiders crawling around.

My question is: How can one safely navigate the waters of Minecraft and return home at sunset? I made some huge ass dirt towers around my castle but I can't see them anywhere now.

Also if you have any advice on how to get back home without dying, I'd love to hear it.

*Returns to Minecraft to probably die fighting*
Getting lost = Make a compass.
Getting anywhere safetly = easy, you can lay down anything to make a fortress and you can dig as deep as you want, it's just a chore. Also, if you play it smart you can hit them without them hitting you.

Hum, if you go some distance build and house and then die and respawn at the start your compass won't help. Interesting problem. Minecraft needs more beds and ways to change spawn points (and a map).
