Secret Fanboys and Fangirls of the Escapist!

So it's Christmas Eve and I was contemplating a neat way to spread some holiday cheer across the site. Well, after a brief discussion with my good buddy (an thrice divorcee), Gaystar, I figured I'd make this quirky/stupid thread!

So here's the deal: a lot of us have friends on the Escapist. People we gravitate towards and talk to a lot. Maybe even game with or fuck. Well, this thread isn't about them. They already know how much we love theirm dicks! No, this thread is about those posters we admire from afar. The posters we secretly make hair-dolls of and whisper to at night.

This is a thread about those we cheer on as fanboys and fangirls of the Escapist!

So, whose posts do you often look for while lurking the forums and why? Are they genuinely funny? Are they smart and make good points? Are they troublemakers? Are they Fappy?!

I will go first!

Zhukov [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Zhukov]: He is a thoughtful and clever guy when it comes down to it. He doesn't always make me laugh and we clearly have different opinions on games, but I always find his posts a pleasure to read. Plus, since he's had his avatar for so long I always just assume he is scowling while he is posting, even if it is a lighthearted post. Like he's only smiling on the inside XD

BloatedGuppy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/BloatedGuppy]: I am convinced he is too smart for this website. He's equal parts witty, grounded and insightful. I don't think I have ever read a debate he was in where I didn't begin to gravitate towards his side of the argument at some point. He has a way of deconstructing an issue and analyzing it from the ground up. He's also just a cool dude.

Now you guys get to go!

Sajuukhan(I don't think that's spelled right): This guy is just awesome. Whenever I see a post about bethesda, I quickly scroll through just to see if he posted. He always ends up in an argument and it just awesome to watch it unfold. I also admire his ability to defend the elder scrolls and be a genius when it comes to lore.

LacktheKnack- The guy has a perfect balance of humor and logic in his post. Finding that balance is really difficult. He also had a awesome avatar but he changed it. Bastard.

I also look for some people who tend to just make posts that make zero sense and are just so much fun to watch them "argue" their point.

I'm having trouble thinking of people, I've already perved on most of the people that I think are cool.

I always enjoy Spot1990's posts, I usually agree with him and he seems like a really cool guy.

Then again, he just gushes about anyone he likes. Or verbally abuses them. Or both.

Oh hi [user]Fappy[/user]. Where's the cat and why don't you post more, I thought you died or something. I quite like the bloke with the owl in his avatar, but I can't spell his name for beans. What he posts always seems reasonable, sane and moderate. I don't think I've ever seen him lose his rag at anyone. On the other hand, from what I've seen he does not appear to have a sense of humour. I don't know if he even has a pulse. There are few people who present themselves in their writing as well as he does. Two of those would be [user]TheIronRuler[/user] and [user]BloatedGuppy[/user], though I hardly see their posts in the Off-Topic. Oh wait, there's also [user]Skeleon[/user] and his soothing, soothing avatar.

[user]TopazFusion[/user] is the sweetest and most tolerant mod I know. He's a cool dude and I'd very much like to go cruising with him. [user]Daystar Clarion[/user] doesn't post often enough to leave much of an impression, to be honest. [user]PsychicTaco115[/user]'s antics make me laugh my ass off. I don't know how he gets away with it, but I'm glad he does.

That's pretty much it, to be honest. I spend most of my time in the Forum Games and there are relatively few people who post there regularly. We see the same faces most of the time, with the exception of the people who drop by once in a blue moon. On the other forums, the people of quality sadly don't seem to post often enough. It's Christmas morning here and I'd just like to thank the mods for trying their damnedest to keep the forums clean. You guys do a great job.

Especially Topazfusion because he was born on the same rock as me, and that's good cause for bias, I feel.

And a shout out to all of the new members who have decided to stay after the Reader's Choice votes close. Hopefully there's at least a few of you that haven't been completely turned off. A lot of you should fit right in.

Also, Zachary... can't remember the rest of his name. He seems to emit a calm authority for some reason.

I think I'll mention the R&P veterans: Zeconte, Skeleon, Polarity77, Danny Ocean, Seekster (WE ALL MISS YOU), Agema, thaluikhain, BiscuitTrouser, FieryTrainwreck. And many others.

Regardless of their opinions, they've mad the best attempts at debating and deserve more credit. I'll admit I mainly read threads there if they make an appearance as they usually have the most interesting posts.

And since most of the other have either been mentioned or have appeared in the thread themselves, Bara_No_Hime. One of the most pleasant posters on the forums, and usually had good contributions to the discussions she appeared in.

Also, I made an advice thread ages ago for a Pathfinder campaign that sadly never came to pass. However, she gave me a crapton of advice on what classes to use, what stats and abilities to pick etc. The ideas I took from that thread led to what I consider one of my favourite character ideas. So for what's it worth, thanks for making the forums a more interesting place.

Honestly I can't think of anyone in regards to the Off-Topic or Gaming sections of the Escapist. However, I tend to find myself taking note of @farson135 and @Gethsemani more then I do other posters. Which is kind of funny regarding the latter as I first took note of her when we were in disagreement on a topic I OP'd way back.

Ah, yes. I probably should have mentioned, most of the observations I've made are based on a lengthy period of scrutinisation and lurking before membership. I suppose you could say I've always been here, watching from the shadows. Just like a normal, socially well-adjusted person would.

I just wanted t pointed out that for all the jokes about R&P being the basement of The Escapist, a lot of the posters there really deserve more credit. (Especially when compared to Off-Topic over the past year).

A shout-out goes to Lil Devils X and Beautiful Tragedy, because while I may not agree with everything they say, they provide interesting window into groups who I have no direct experience with (Native Americans and Transgender people, respectively). There's plenty of other people who do similar, one of the reasons I hangout on this site, but these two stand out in particular in my mind.

I love all of my combatants... err... opponents... uhm... frenemies? Fellow escapists! Thats it... Love you all equally, even if we don't always agree on stuff. At least my love extends to the ones I have sane discussions with and not the ones who cherry pick posts and flame bait (well those folk tend to get banhammered so...).
But I love being here even if I don't always agree with ya'll. And I'm glad despite how random it seems that a good number of my posts tend to be within a few posts +/- of Zachary Amaranth's, we never get mistaken for each other.
And I remain somewhat anonymous

Also much love to Daystar and some of you Injustice League folk, all who make me laugh at things I probably wouldn't normally.
