"I'm not what I was, which was never much, and I'm not cut out for galavanting up and around the country anyways. The job certainly doesn't look boring, but that might actually be a negative for me. Also, I'm Umbra Rimph."

"Umbra, even if you aren't a fighter these days, there are still a few skill holes to fill in our little group of recruits." I wave my hand around to indicate myself, Hulgar, and Idreon. "If you were an adept at the magic arts, you'd certainly have a role to play. Also, I seem to remember seeing you giving some lecture on the Deep Folk, and the expertise you showed there would be useful on our commission."

I continued to listen to the hidden man continue to talk, without any real proof of anything. The convenient entrance of the Thalmor and how easily and quickly they left also left me uneasy... But it managed to make him curious, if nothing else. Nothing like testing the traps of the knife eared pricks.

"Since you just successfully used the word galavanting, I'll assume you're smart enough to read? I need someone who can do that if you'd like to share in the coin? I got a plan..." I let loose my devilish Argonian grin, and look at the door again. I'd need to leave soon.

Like many before him, Umbra was nothing before the unstoppable force of peer pressure. He tossed his hands up in the air in semi-mock defeat, letting his newly-formed business partners know of his surrender. "Fine, fine, I'll let you guys take me along. I'll un-break you and read for you and keep you from doing anything stupid." Our hero drained the last of his elder grape juice in as ingle mighty swig, and went on to the next logical step of the matter.

"So, when and where are we meeting for this little party of ours? Are we going to see if he tried to recruit anyone else, or is this expedition of four what we've got?"

I couldnt help but smile, "so it looks like were all in cahoots then". I thought a moment, if the Thalmor were looking for it as well, then clearly we were going to need to be careful. A few Justiciers probably wouldnt be an issue, but what if we run into great numbers of them. Not to mention the Imperials, I must assume they are working with the Thalmor due to their damned treaty. A man of my background might not sit well with them at all. I rub my chin in though...

"So, when and where are we meeting for this little party of ours? Are we going to see if he tried to recruit anyone else, or is this expedition of four what we've got?"

i think for a bit then speak "well by now he's probably gone so it might not be worth it, I guess this is it and um well no time like present" I say to Umbra ordering another drink but this time asking for best sliver blood mead they have

In the midst of thinking I pull out my bounty letter I got from Kleppr earlier, then I wave it up to where all of us can see "Perhaps it would be a good Idea to pull off this bounty before we go for the relic, as a means of getting gold for the trip itself like carriage fare, food and supplies, mead and ummm mead" I sorta laugh at my last comment

I turn to Hugar and smile "I agree this would also leave little more coin on the side for us after the job is done" I say before taking another sip of my mead "aye always got to have Mead in these types of plans" laughing with him

Umbra's visage cracked into a grin at the Nordic insistence on alcohol. The Mer scoots his chair away from the table and lifts himself onto his feet with a bit of pain sprinkled among the effort.

"Well, that sounds like an afternoon." Umbra had to suppress a yawn as he stretched his back out. "I might as well join you, if only to share in the profits. Who's on the chopping block this time?" His last question was directed at Hulgar, who was holding the bounty paper.

As he was packing up his papers, Umbra asked another question: "If we're bounty hunting tomorrow, I'll need some rest tonight. Say, where should we meet tomorrow before we set off?"

"I might as well join you, if only to share in the profits. Who's on the chopping block this time?"

"some bandit leader held up in a cave east of here, shouldnt be to hard, well do it cash in and then head off to get the Relic"

I shrug, " maybe...ummm, near the gates 9:00 A.M". I look to Idreon who seemed to be up to something..." So...you want to join us or you off to do your own thing?"

'No amount of orc intelligence can make that happen with two proud Nords on the team.' Idreon rolled his eyes, while Hulgar brought up a job of his. Simple enough, just wanted to make some money before heading out... But it seemed convenient, like everything else. What if this WAS a spy, and this was to test their skills before the trap was sprung.

'I'm onto your game.'

"I have a plan already, and alone might be best anyways. You men enjoy your trip, and perhaps we'll all meet at the ruins? Raldbthar?" Idreon gave his (somewhat sleazy) grin, and began heading out. He'd ride to the Thalmor embassy, if they were truly interested a bureaucratic bastard would've written up some report. And going into a job with as much intelligence as possible was what kept the best thieves alive.

"See you all soon, unless one of you wishes to come with?"

"I have a plan already, and alone might be best anyways. You men enjoy your trip, and perhaps we'll all meet at the ruins? Raldbthar?"

"well...alright, guess Ill be seeing you later then, and good luck at...whatever it is your doing" I then turn to Umbra and John. "So guys, we still have some time to burn, eneything you guys wish to talk about" I cross my arms and lean back a little sipping my mead.

"well I like knowing how someone fights so I can stay out of their way, they stay out of mine and if possible I can help them fight, so what is your preference in combat? I personally like to fight up in my opponent's face and stealth wise bow and arrows" I said before taking a large sip of my mead

I chuckle, "I tend to take on my enemies head on, never was much sneaking around but..." I shrug " my skill with this here sword on my back more then makes up for it Id say". Just in that moment the ring in my pocket fell through a hole and rolled up right at johns feet...

 

[Captain Anon]

I look down and see the ring by my feet squatting down I pick it up and then stand up right again "should really be careful with something like this" I say handing it back to Hugar "so what the story behind that?" sitting down sipping my mead

"oh..." I exclaim in surprise taking back the ring. for a minute I study it in my hands, "It belonged to a friend of myn, he uhhhh gave it to me before he passed away of fatal wound...He was Argonian if you can believe it". I sigh "Despite us being...you know, members of diffrent species, we still considered each other brothers which to me was a big deal seeming as how I never really had much of a family to start with". I smile recalling all our adventures and then his last request, "His last wish was for me to give this back to his mother...thing is...he didnt say her name so she can be all the way back in Black Marsh for all I know, heck, I even considered treking down their and asking if any one knew him" I shrugged. "I just dont know where any of his relatives are its like...looking for a needle in a hey stak"...

"your quest is noble Hugar I'm sure you'll find his relatives soon" I say placing my hand on his shoulder

I smile, "Thanks...but enough about me, whats your story if you dont mind me asking"

I stare into space for a bit and then turn back to Hulgar "I never knew my birth parents I was found on the doorstep of Jorrvaskr home of The Companions, took me in and raised me as one of their own, they all help in some way or another in my upbringing, later on after years of training I became a member of The Circle which is comprised of the senior members of The Companions, nowadays I've been looking a fort or something to branch the Companions out of Jorrvaskr like a safe house" I say Smiling now and then

I nod, " The Companions eh?...a noble group to be part of Id say, I thought about going over to Whiterun hold to seek membership...but after my time serving as a..." I look around then whisper "...Stormcloak soldier" then regular voice "I decided to keep to myself, but...who knows Im still quite young and anythings possible".

"well if you want you could join my branch of the Companions just ask yeah?" I say offering membership
