What features in games do you love, that most others would pass by?

For me i love TF2 for having a colourblind option which changes about some of the visuals to make it easier to see.

Obviously most people arent ever going to use this but i like that they've added something for a small demographic of people which im part of.

So what easily overlookable features do like?

GTA: San Andreas - the fact that when you stand on top of a car, the physics don't bug out and push you off when it starts moving. You can have entire car chases up there.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - You can spill oil on the floor, or you can use a freeze spell, and enemies who walk over it will slip (which can result in them falling off a cliff or something like that)

Being able to vault over cover in third-person shooters.

I don't know why, but I love doing it.

My understanding is about 7% of men have some form of colour blindness so it's a pretty significant portion of the population, if that translates into 7% of the gaming male population.

OT: Not exactly a game feature but I like getting the OST with the game. I really appreciate them giving me a disc/download along with the game.

Skippable cutscenes.

It should be a crime to not include them. Especially if they're right before a boss, and we're forced to watch it every time we die.

I know 7% of males is quite alot but the vast majority of people playing TF2 might never even realise this option is available.
Although I do wish more games would do it because it'd solve alot of problems i have whilst playing.

I love when you can do things like this! Common sense physics being included is awesome.

I know this will probably sound weird considering it was a physocological horror game or something. But I really liked the scenery in Alan Wake... you know... when there Was`nt evil shadow monster things attacking you?

Non-detrimental-to-gameplay glitches.

Every game should surprise you every now and then with one of these beauties. Like when you blow something up and an unlucky passer by gets catapulted into an officer of the law and gets arrested for it, or when an NPC 'accidentally' drops off a ledge and lands on another NPC who you're having a conversation with, leading to a chat-scene where the person you speak to appears to be carrying someone on their shoulders.

I know they aren't features but I love them all the same!

When Mass Effect 2 takes your save from Mass Effect 1, you get all of these little insignificant features that I really enjoyed because it made my story feel unique. You could get messages from characters you interacted with way back or people would talk about your choices from before and it gave me this satisfaction of really carving a name out in this fictional galaxy.

Whenever a game includes God Beams as part of the lighting, it is guaranteed that I'll stand in every possible location "ooh"ing and "ahhh"ing for minutes. I love me some digital god beams.

Color.

I always feel like a tool when I dislike a game largely because of its lack of color (Gears of War and Fallout 3 are the big offenders from my own experience). It seems like a petty thing to complain that if they added just a little more color, I might have been able to enjoy a game (Don't misread this. I didn't want Fallout 3 to look like Wind Waker. Actually, this problem was solved for me in New Vegas. So you get the idea there). But it makes a massive difference to me.

Just a small introduction of color can completely redeem a game's visual presentation.

Not sure why but ive always enjoyed token rpg elements in shooters and sandbox games.
For example in GTA:SA the way you level up strength, gun accuracy, driving skill and so on

Rag doll phyics and the ability to move dead bodies.

I've spent hours and hours in games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion throwing dead bodies down stair ways just because I find it amusing. Rag doll also leads to WTF?! moments where enemies die and fall in naughty positions, always good for a laugh.
