While resident evil 4 proved you can pull a series back, sonics been circling the drain for a long time, isnt that a sign that you shouldnt get excited until youve played the actualy game?

I have played the demo, which contains two whole levels in the game.

So yeah, it looks, and plays great, so unless sonic team destroys the code, delays it to remake the game with crappy gimmicks, their's no chance in hell that this will flop.

They have actually listened to the fans this time.

Im sorry, but your basing this off 2 levels and think it wont flop? Considering the general opinion of sonic games is that they are terrible, do you really think everyone will have seen the trailer/played the demo and then go out and buy the game based on this?

Trailers have been misleading before, besides, how do you know that the 2 levels youve played are the only good ones in the whole game? You dont and there is no way you can predict the game will be a success. Optimism is all good and well, but declaring 2 levels mean a game will be awesome is kinda pushing it just a little dont you think? Esoecially as this is sonic, ive heard people saying the same thing every game, that this one will live upto the legend that is the originals, but it never does.

If the game does come out and it is bad, would you admit it? I would be happy to admit im wrong if it is the awesome game your claiming, cause im holding off judgement until ive actually played it. And despite my usual ignoring the trailers stuff, we are talking about the series used as a joke about been bad constantly, so maybe this changes it, but itll have to impress more than usualy considering.

Why bother "forgiving" Sega's sins against their own mascot anyway?

Sonic Generations is going to not only bomb, but also damage Sonic in more ways than even Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic '06, and Sonic Unleashed put together! The Sonic Cycle will repeat itself, taking our beloved childhood hero and turning him into a crap cash-in with no redeeming values like the previous times. It'll be broken, unplayable, and cheap like Shadow's game, Sonic '06, and Unleashed, complete with more gimmicks that don't feel like Sonic at all in the vein of the previous bad and gratuitous gimmicks from the previous awful games.

If anything, I'd rather the sun explodes and consumes all of Earth, bringing the entire human-population with it, than deal with another game that's going to re-kill my childhood-hero anyway. It'll be that bad!

well then here's a tip[ for saving your childhood: don't frikken buy it!

So basically, you watched the homing attack and then proceeded to ignore the rest of the video, which may I add contains level design that arguably can stand on its own with the Genesis games?

By the way, Classic Sonic, AKA 2D Sonic has no Homing Attack, you would know if you paid attention to the related videos which you did not.

The demo was a lot of fun, but it feels like it isn't worth the $60. Not doubt it'll actually be a good sonic game, or a good game for that matter. Just that the levels may in the end be a bit repetitive.

Sonic Colors seems to have done a lot of the work already. Sonic 4, while less unanimously praised, was stil enjoyed by a lot of gamers. And the hand-held Sonic games have always been regarded as being strong entries in the series.

Lighten up man. Haven't you heard? Sega finally gives a shit. The good times are coming for us Sonic fans.

The day sections were brilliant. The werehog sections... not so much. But it still wasn't the travesty people thought it was.

I personally think this Sonic Cycle thing is vastly overdone. Yes, 2006 Sonic was shit. But there have been good 3D sonic games. I personally thought Sonic Heroes was a blast. Not perfect (the voice acting was pretty damn dodgy), but in places it was absolute genius.

I actually quite liked the night time stages as well. I didn't see the problem, and all the reviewers I saw who said he was really slow were, well, lying. Russ Pitts intentionally moved slow in his video review to say he was slow and he wasn't joking, then a screen later and he was fast, not daytime fast but still fast.

No gimmicks, No other playable characters, Super fast old school sonic gameplay, all is good.

That video has me sold. Really, if you're interested enough in this game, what does it really matter to you what all the naysayers say anyway? Let them moan to their hearts content - as long as the others get to look forward to the game in peace (and hopefully enjoy it upon release).

As an aside, got to say the Sky Sanctuary looks amazing in this version!

It's slightly sad watching them work toward resurrecting it. Hey, perhaps it will work and Sonic games will become cool again, but whew if it hasn't taken a long time getting there.

Well, the games have been improving considerably.

If they can keep making game as good as Colors was, then he may be back on track. Oh sure, he'll never be a superstar again, but he might very well start being remembered for more than his excellent roots, and one long slump.

It's like Sonic is in a race and he is just blazing through the entire track. The finish line is in sight, but before he crosses it, he trips on the Werehog stages, and falls flat on his face. He still manages to get up and win the race, but everyone will remember the fall much more than the victory.

That was the EXACT metaphor I used to describe unleashed to people I knew. Sonic dashed form the starting line, only to trip over the werehog and break his nose. He still finished the race, but no one really cared.

Now, Sonic Colors....He took off at a fantastic pace, and maintained it throughout the race. He slowed down a few times, but he finished the race, and did it WELL.

If Generations is anything like Colors, I will be VERY VERY happy.

Yeah, I felt the same way... I hope since it's GHZ (assuming it's the game's first level) it'll become a lot more challenging in the later levels.

I downloaded the demo because of this post.

I must say, it is fun. I was terrible at it (at least on the first try), but still... good stuff.

I'm a little surprised to see that it's a full-priced game though. I do wonder if there'll be enough content there to warrant it. Could be a good pickup for a lower price down the road though.
